        THE ALI INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION LAHORE BILL 2008 (Bill No.12 of 2008)

 

                A MINISTER to move that the Ali Institute of Education Lahore Bill 2008, as recommended by Special Committee, be taken into consideration at once.

 

                A MINISTER to move that the Ali Institute of Education Lahore Bill 2008 be passed.

SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS

Speaker Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an followed by its Urdu translation by Qari Noor Muhammad. Akhtar Hussain Qadri presented Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Questions Hour: −

Questions relating to The Cooperatives, Transport and Special Education Departments were asked and Minister for Cooperatives Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, and Minister for Special Education Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer and Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Mr. Muhammad Khuram Gulfam, answered the questions.

Call Attention Notice:-

Two call attention notices were taken up. The call attention notice moved by Mr. Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry regarding newspaper report about killing of eight-year old girl Sonu, daughter of Muhammad Pervaiz, resident of Green Town, Bagrian Phase-1, Lahore, was disposed of. Other call attention notice moved by Ch. Muhammad Arshad  regarding newspaper report of killing of Manager of Gold Trader, Nadeem Butt, his two gunmen, driver and two passengers boarding in a van during a dacoity attempt at Dheerway More Interchange near Sheikupura, was disposed of. The notices were  answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan.    

Leave of absence:-

Secretary Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Mr. Maqsood Ahmad Malik read out the leave applications of the following members and Mr. Speaker granted the leave.

Ms. Fouzia Behram, Sardar Muhammad Hussain Dogar, Dr. Amna Buttar, Mr. Qaisar Iqbal Sindhu, Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, Mian Muhammad Rafique, Ms. Kiran Dar, Ms. Asifa Farooqi, Mr. Shoukat Aziz Bhatti, Peer Walayat Shah Khagha, Ch.Muhammad Arshad.    

Resolution:-

Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan moved the following resolution, after suspending rule 150 under Rule 1 of the Rules of the Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab. The resolution was later unanimously passed by the House.

 

Privilege Motions:-

Three privilege motions were taken up. The motion moved by Mrs. Samina Khawar Hayat regarding misbehavior of SP Traffic, Lahore, Sardar Asif, was pended. The motion moved by Malik Muhammad Abbas Raan regarding misbehavior of ASI, Special Branch, Islam, was pended. The motion moved by Mrs. Deeba Mirza regarding misconduct of EDO Education, District Nankanashaib, Sheikh Naeem, was referred to the special committee.

The motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan.

Condolence:-

The house offered Fateha on the death of brother of Dr. Muhammad Akhtar Malik (PP 202).

 

Resolution:-

The House allowed Sheikh Ala ud Din to move the following resolution, after suspending rule 115 and 27 under Rule 234 of the Rules of the Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997 demanding The Federal Government to issue directions to the SGNPL for reviewing raise in gas tariff. The resolution was later unanimously passed by the House.

Adjournment Motions:-

Seven adjournment motions were taken up. The motion moved by Malik Muhammad Waris Kallo regarding non-payment of pending by sugarcane mills owners to the sugarcane growers, was disposed of.  The motion moved by Ms. Rifat Sultana Dar regarding possession of boys hostel of Government Tanning College by teacher Safia Sultana, was disposed of and was answered by Minister for Special Education, Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer. The motion moved by Mrs. Samina Khawar Hayat regarding newspaper report of changing traffic route of coaster from Kasur to Lahore and restriction on it to enter Lahore was disposed of. Two adjournment motions were moved by Mian Muhammad Rafique regarding failure in advertising  the posts of Educators, was disposed of . The motion regarding in the closure of the Sir William Roberts Trust Faisalabad, was pended. The motion moved by Mr. Sher Ali Khan regarding removal from service of 923 Grade 4 employees of Punjab Highway, was disposed of.  The motion moved by Mr. Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry regarding newspaper report about constituting of Zakat Committees in the province, was pended.

The motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan.

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS:-

Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan introduced the “University of Health Sciences Lahore (Amendment ) Bill 2009” was referred to Standing Committee on Health for submitting its report by 15th March, 2009.

 

Condolence:-

The house offered fateha on the murder of electronic media man, Musa Khankhel.

 The Speaker read the prorogation order of the Governor Punjab and the House was then prorogued.

"یہ ایوان وفاقی حکومت سے مطالبہ کرتا ہے کہ عوام کو بھیجے گئے سوئی گیس کے ناقابل برداشت چھ گنا بلوں کو فوری طور پر کالعدم قرار دے اور سوئی گیس کارپوریشن کو ہدایت کرے کہ گیس کے سابقہ بلوں میں کسی صورت میں دس فی صد سے زائد اضافہ نہ کرے۔"
