Since Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker had assumed the charge of Acting Governor, the Acting Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Assembly employee Hafiz Khalid Mehmood followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (P.B.U.H.) by Assembly employee Ghulam Haidar.
Privilege Motions
Five Privilege motions were taken up. The motion moved by Dr. Samia Amjad regarding not presenting Annual reports of Provincial Ombudsman Punjab for the year 2007 and 2008 before the House was disposed of, motion moved by Mrs. Samina Khawar Hayat regarding misbehavior of S.H.O, Mr. Amir Salim, Liberty Thana Gulburg, Lahore, motion moved by Mian Muhammad Naveed Anjum regarding misconduct of D.S.P Bagbanpura, Lahore, Malik Mansha kept pending as movers were not present, motion moved by Major (R) Abdul Rehman Rana regarding not allowing legislation by Government of the Punjab about Lahore Faisalabad road as mentioned in the contract was referred to the Privilege Committee , and last motion moved by Syed Hassan Murtaza regarding misbehavior of DDO(R), Chiniot kept pending.
The motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan.
