Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Abdul Ghaffar Shakir followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (P.B.U.H.) by Mr. Abid Ruaf Qadri.
Questions Hour: −
Questions relating to TOURISM were answered by Malik Nadeem Kamran, Minister for Food, holding additional charge of TOURISM and the questions relating to FORESTS, WILDLIFE & FISHERIES were answered by Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Minister for Agriculture, holding additional charge of Forest, Fisheries & Wildlife and questions relating to EXCISE & TAXATION were answered by Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman Minister for EXCISE & TAXATION.
Resolution:
The House unanimously passed the following resolution condemning the terrorist attacks on the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Building, Police Training Centre Manawan, Elite Force Training School Bedian, Shangla, Kohat and Peshawar :-
"صوبائی اسمبلی پنجاب کا یہ نمائندہ ایوان شانگلہ، کوہاٹ اور پشاور میں ہونے والے حالیہ بم دھماکوں اور کل مورخہ15۔اکتوبر2009 کو لاہور میں ایف آئی اے بلڈنگ، مناواں پولیس ٹریننگ سنٹر اور بیدیاں میں ایلیٹ فورس کے ٹریننگ سکول میں ہونے والے دہشت گرد حملوں کی پُرزور الفاظ میں مذمت کرتا ہے۔ یہ ایوان ان واقعات میں ہونے والی ہلاکتوں پر اپنے گہرے رنج و غم کا اظہار کرتا ہے اور ہلاک شدگان کے لواحقین کے غم میں برابر کا شریک ہے۔ یہ ایوان سیکیورٹی فورسز کے ان شہداء کو بھی سلام پیش کرتا ہے جنہوں نے بروقت کارروائی کر کے نہ صرف دہشت گردوں کے عزائم کو خاک میں ملایا بلکہ بہت سی قیمتی جانوں کو بھی بچانے میں اپنا کردار ادا کیا۔ یہ ایوان پاک فوج، رینجرز، پولیس اور قانون نافذ کرنے والی دیگر ایجنسیوں سے مکمل اظہار یکجہتی کرتا ہے اور اس عزم کااعادہ کرتا ہے کہ ملک سے آخری دہشت گرد کے خاتمے تک پوری قوم ان فورسز کے ساتھ ہے۔"
The Resolution was jointly moved by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Raja Riaz Ahmad, Senior Minister and Ch. Zahir-ud-Din, Leader of the Opposition. The House also offered Fateha for the martyrs in these attacks.
Laying of Committee Reports
On a motion moved by Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad, the House granted extension in the time limit up to one year; from 28th November 2009 for laying the report of the Public Accounts Committee-1 for the years 2000-01, 2001-02, 2002-03, and 2004-05.
On a motion moved by Muhammad Hafeez Akhtar Chaudhry, the House granted extension in the time limit up to one year; from 28th November 2009 for laying the report of the Public Accounts Committee-II for the year 2003-04.
On a motion moved by Malik Muhammad Abbas Raan, the House granted extension in the time limit up to 30th November 2009 for laying the report of the Standing Committees on Irrigation and Power, on the starred question of Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari.
Privilege Motion:
Four Privilege Motions were taken up.
The motion moved by Sardar Khalid Saleem Bhatti, regarding misconduct of Secretary Revenue Mr. Munawer Ahmad Majoka, was disposed of as the mover was not present.
The Motion moved by Ms. Deeba Mirza regarding misconduct of Inspector, Mr. Nabi Bukhsh, and Sub Inspector Mr. Akhtar, was disposed of as the mover was not present.
The motion moved by Mehr Ijaz Ahmad Achlana, regarding misconduct of Superintendent Darul Aman, District Layya was pended.
The motion moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood, regarding misconduct of District Nazim Gujrat, Ch. Shafaat Hussain, was referred to the Privilege Committee.

GENERAL DISCUSSION ON AGRICULTURE AND FOOD WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO SUGAR AND ATTA:
General discussion on Agriculture and Food with special reference to Sugar and Atta was started.
Minister for Food, Malik Nadeem Kamran opened the discussion.
While Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mehmood was delivering the speech, the House was then adjourned till 3:00 pm, on Monday, 19 October, 2009.
