Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and the proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (P.B.U.H.) by Mr. Marghoob Humdani.
QUESTION HOUR
Questions relating to COMMUNICATION AND WORKS DEPARTMENT were to be asked but during Question Hour, the Opposition pointed out the quorum. After following due procedure laid in the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, the Speaker adjourned the session for half an hour. On resumption after half an hour the House was in order in respect of quorum. Then the Opposition chanted the slogans against the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan for his remarks against leadership of PML on November 5, 2009 during Question Hour.
ADJOURNMENT MOTION
Seven Adjournment Motions were taken up.
Adjournment Motion of Mr. Shahan Malik regarding smuggling of narcotics and arms in his constituency PP-15, Adjournment Motion of Sheikh Ala ud Din regarding rapid rise in the crimes of women trafficking in the Punjab and involvement of an organised gang in this heinous act and most of the women from Punjab are taken to the Middle East countries, Adjournment Motion of Sheikh Ala ud Din regarding substandard of Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad, Adjournment Motion of Mr. Qaisar Iqbal Sindhu regarding frauds of property dealers in the Province, Adjournment Motion of Mr. Shehryar Riaz regarding the 79 on contract women lecturers which had not been made permanent despite Government directions and Adjournment Motion of Mrs. Nighat Nasir Sheikh regarding sale of sub standard drugs in Lahore district were pended till next week.
Adjournment Motion moved by Sardar Khalid Saleem Bhatti regarding shortage of drinking water in Burewala was disposed of.
Motions were answered by the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan.
