Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Noor Muhammad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (P.B.U.H.) by Mr. Sarwar Hussain Naqshbandi.
Question Hour: −
Questions relating to Cooperatives and Special Education Departments were asked and answered by Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Minister for Cooperatives (holding additional charge) and Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer, Minister for Special Education.
Call Attention Notices:-
Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. One Call Attention Notice moved by Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari regarding capturing of truck loaded with explosives at Dera Ghazi Khan the and other Call Attention Notice moved by Khawaja Muhammad Islam regarding assassination of Rehmat Ali by dacoits, resident of Mohallah Umar Farooq, Police Station, Saddar, Faisalabad.
Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs answered the notices.
Laying of Reports:-
Malik Muhammad Waris Kallu laid the reports on the following Privilege Motions No. 15, 23, 31, 26, 3, 35, 36 before the House.
Mr. Muhammad Arqam Khan laid the report of “The Punjab Mineral Development Corporation Amendment Bill, 2009 (Bill No. 17 of 2009)” before the House.
Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs introduced
“The Punjab Urban Immovable Property Tax (Amendment) Ordinance 2009 (I of 2010)”, which was referred to the Standing Committee on Excise & Taxation to report until February 28, 2010.
“The Punjab Examination Commission Bill 2010 (Bill No. 3 of 2010)”, which was referred to the Standing Committee on Education to report until February 28, 2010
Privilege Motions:-
Four Privilege motions were taken up. Two Privilege Motions moved by Ch. Zahir-ud-Din regarding not presenting the annual report of Bait-Ul- Mal for the year, 2008 before the House was pended and the other Motion regarding not presenting the annual reports of Principles of Policy for the year 2007 and 2008 before the House was referred to the Privilege Committee, the motion moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood regarding misbehavior of DG Anti-Corruption was pended and the motion moved by Mrs. Amna Ulfat regarding recommendations of National Finance Commission before the House was pended for next week.
The motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.
Adjournment Motion:-
Three Adjournment Motions were taken up. Two motions moved by Sheikh Ala ud Din regarding smuggling of women to the Central States in the name of house keeping was disposed off, and the Motion regarding presenting details of contract cost and completion cost of projects progressing under the C&W, Buildings and Irrigation departments before the House was pended, The Motion moved by Peer Walayat Shah Khagha regarding theft of six cows from Qadirabad Farm, district Sahiwal was also pended.
The motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

General Discussion on Food:-
Following members participated in the general discussion on Food. Ch. Zahir-ud-Din, Leader of Opposition, Mr. Muhammad Yar Hiraj, Rai, Muhammad Shah Jahan Khan, Malik Nadeem amran, Minister for food wind up the speech.
The House was then adjourned till 9:00 am on Friday, January 22, 2010.
