GOVERNMENT BUSINESS

 

1.   THE PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENT (AMENDMENT) BILL 2010 (Bill No. 6 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2010, as recommended by the Standing Committee on Local Government and Rural Development, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2010 be passed.

 

2.   THE PUNJAB MINERAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (AMENDMENT) BILL 2009 (Bill No. 17 of 2009)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Mineral Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill 2009, as recommended by the Standing Committee on Mines and Minerals, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Mineral Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill 2009 be passed.

 

3.   THE PUNJAB LAND REVENUE (AMENDMENT) BILL 2010 (BILL No.9 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to introduce the Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill 2010.

 

4.   THE PUNJAB PRIVATIZATION BOARD BILL 2010 (BILL No.10 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to introduce the Punjab Privatization Board Bill 2010.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Noor Muhammad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (P.B.U.H.) by Mr. Abid Rauf Qadri.

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Revenue and Colonies (Board of Revenue) Department were asked and Haji Muhammad Ishaq, Minister for Revenue and Colonies (Board of Revenue) answered the questions.

Call Attention Notices:-

Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. One Call Attention Notice Moved By Sheikh Ala Ud Din Regarding newspaper report about Killing of 20 Years Old Girl, Resident of 187/GB, Toba Tek Singh. Other Notice moved by Khawaja Muhammad Islam regarding Newspaper report about killing of 4 years old Nabeeha, d/o Ghullam Hussain, resident of chak No. 205 Mohalwalla.

Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs answered the Notices.

Laying of Reports:

Ch. Javed Ahmad laid the report of “The Punjab Daanish Schools and Centers of Excellence Authority Bill 2009 (Bill No.30 of 2009)” of the Standing Committee on Education before the House.

Extension In Time For Laying The Reports:-

On a Motion moved by Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari, the House granted extension in the time limit till 15 March, 2010, for laying the report of the Special Committee regarding “The Amendment in the Punjab Prohibition of Private Money Lending Act 2007 (VI of 2007)”.

On a Motion moved by Khawaja Imran Nazir, the House granted extension in the time limit till 15 March, 2010, for laying the report of the Standing Committee on Irrigation and Power regarding “The Punjab Irrigation & Power Authority (Amendment) Bill 2008(Bill No.16 of 2008)” moved by Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari.

ADJOURNMENT MOTIONS:-

Six Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Adjournment Motion moved by Mrs. Amna Ulfat regarding not paying price up to market value of the buildings at Multan Road, Lahore by Board of Revenue was pended till next week. The Motion moved by Peer Walayat Shah Khagha regarding theft of six cows from Qadirabad Farm, district Sahiwal was pended till next week. The Motion moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood regarding changing status of land by EDO Revenue, Gujrat was disposed of. Three Motions moved by Rana Babar Hussain regarding giving land of Forest Department on lease to one of the Middle East countries for establishing rice factory at Perowal, Khaniwal was pended for next week, the motion regarding not establishing girls/boys colleges and not constructing Health Centre at Jandiali Bangla, Tehsil, Mian Channu were disposed of.

The motions were answered by Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved the following two Bills which were passed by the House.

The Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2010 (Bill No. 6 of 2010)”

“The Punjab Mineral Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill 2009 (Bill No. 17 of 2009)”

Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved following two Bills which were referred to the Standing Committee on Revenue, Relief and Consolidation and the Standing Committee on Industries respectively for submitting their reports by 15 March, 2010.

“The Punjab Privatization Board Bill 2010 (Bill No.10 of 2010)”

The House was then adjourned till 9:00 am on Friday, February 5th, 2010.
