1.   THE ALI INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION LAHORE BILL 2008

      (Bill 12 of 2008)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the message of the Governor in respect of the Ali Institute of Education, Lahore Bill 2008, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that for the word “Chancellor”, wherever occurs in the Bill, the word “Patron” shall be substituted.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Ali Institute of Education Lahore Bill 2008, as amended be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Noor Muhammad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (P.B.U.H.) by Mr. Marghoob Ahmad Hamdani.

Fateha:-

The House offered fateha for the 15 people assassinated at Gujrat and also for the people who died in Bomb blast at Karachi.

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Auqaf Department were asked and Haji Ihsan ud Din Qureshi, Minister for Auqaf answered the questions.

Call Attention Notices:-

Three Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Call Attention Notice moved by Mr. Sher Ali Khan regarding finding dead body of driver Ijaz Ahmad s/o Abdul Majeed, Thatti Gujran, District Attock from Hakla village, District Rawalpindi and the Notice moved by Mst. Seemal Kamran regarding shooting by businessman Sheikh Husnain at Muhammad Bilal resident of  Kot Momun, District Sargodha were disposed of. The Notice moved by Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Chohan reading newspaper report about killing of 35 years old Muhammad Saleem at Bhatti Colony, Kotlakpat by dacoits was pended.

Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs answered the Notices.

Laying of Reports:

Malik Khurram Ali Khan laid the report of regarding  of the Standing Committee on Colonies before the House “The Punjab Privatization Board Bill 2010 (Bill No.10 of 2010)”.

Privilege Motions:-

Four Privilege Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mr. Shaukat Aziz Bhatti regarding lying and hiding facts by Headmaster of Doltana Boys High School, the Motion moved by Dr. Zamurad Yasmin Rana regarding misbehavior of Mehr Iftikhar, Traffic Warden with the concerned member were disposed of, the Motion moved by Mr. Ahsan Raza Khan regarding misbehavior of DPO, Kasur and the Motion moved by Mrs. Samina Naveed regarding misbehavior of Madam Bushra Ishaq, EDO (E), Chistian, Bahawalnagar were pended for next week.

Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs answered the Motions.

Adjournment Motions:-

Six Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Peer Walayat Shah Khagha regarding theft of six cows from Qadirabad Farm, district Sahiwal was pended till Thursday. Two Motions moved by Sheikh Ala ud Din regarding problems faced by unmarried women in the society and other regarding presenting details of contract cost and completion cost of projects progressing under the C&W, Buildings and Irrigation Departments before the House were pended for tomorrow. The Motion moved by Mian Muhammad Naveed Anjum regarding illegal possession of 200 to 300 kanals at Harbanspura, Lahore was disposed of. The Motion moved by Rana Babar Hussain regarding giving land of Forest Department for lease to one of the Middle East countries for establishing rice factory at Perowal, Khaniwal was pended till next week as mover was not present. The Motion moved by Mst Seemal Kamran regarding 190 patients in Camp Jail and 208 in Kotlakpat Jail of Hepatitis disease was pended till tomorrow.

Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs and Mr. Kamran Michael, Minister for Human Rights, Minorities Affairs and Women Development answered the Motions.

Government Business:-

At this stage the quorum was pointed out by the Opposition and the House was then adjourned till 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 9, 2010.
