Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Abdul Ghaffar  Shakir followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (P.B.U.H.) by Mr. Akhtar Hussain Qureshi.

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Excise & Taxation Department were asked and Mian Mujtuba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Minister for Excise & Taxation answered the questions.

Privilege Motion:-

Privilege Motion moved by Mr. Ahsan Raza Khan regarding misbehavior of DPO, Kasur was referred to the Privilege Committee.

The Motion was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Motion under rule 150 (1):-

Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs moved a motion under rule 150 (1) of Rules of Procedure, regarding election of Rana Ejaz Ahmad Noon (PP-204) in Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Auqaf against the seat vacated by Mr Ahmed Khan Balouch (PP-211) and election of Mr. Ahmed Khan Balouch (PP-211) to PAC-1, against the seat vacated by Rana Ejaz Ahmad Noon (PP-204), election of Mrs Seemal Kamran (W-362) in the Standing Committee on Zakat & Ushr against the seat fell vacant due to the death of ex-MPA, Ghazala Farhat, and election of Sardar Atif Hussain Khan Mazari (PP-250) in the Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Auqaf against the seat fell vacant due to the resignation of Miss Shamaila Rana. The motion was unanimously passed by the House.

Adjournment Motions:-

Five Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mst Seemal Kamran regarding 190 patients in Camp Jail and 208 in Kotlakhpat Jail of Hepatitis disease. The Motion moved by Peer Walayat Shah Khagha regarding theft of six cows from Qadirabad Farm, district Sahiwal,  Two Motions moved by Sheikh Ala ud Din regarding problems faced by unmarried women in the society and other regarding presenting details of contract cost and completion cost of projects progressing under the C&W, Buildings and Irrigation Departments before the House were pended for tomorrow. The Motion moved by Mian Muhammad Naveed Anjum  relating to health issues at Lakhodahr, Shadipura and Daroghawala was disposed of.

The Motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

At this stage the quorum was pointed out by the Opposition and the House was then adjourned till 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 10, 2010.
