Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Muhammad Ali followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Mian Marghoob Ahmad Hamdani.
Extension in Time For Laying the Reports:-
On a Motion moved by Ch. Ali Asghar Manda, the House granted extension in the time limit up to 15th August 2010 for laying the report of Standing Committee on Irrigation & Power in respect of The Punjab Power Development Board (Amendment) Bill 2010 (Bill No. 8 of 2010).
On a Motion moved by Sardar Qaisar Abbas Khan Magassi, the House granted extension in the time limit up to 21st July 2010 for laying the report of Standing Committee on Home Affairs in respect of Adjournment Motion No. 117 of 2009 moved by Sheikh Ala ud Din, MPA (PP-181).
On a Motion moved by Haji Ghulam Jaffar Sargana, the House granted extension in the time limit up to 31st August 2010 for laying the report of Standing Committee on Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering in respect of Questions No. 1619 moved by Mian Naseer Ahmed (PP-155) and Question No. 2211 moved by Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan (PP-66).
General Discussion on Supplementary Budget for the Year 2009-10.
The day was fixed for general discussion on the Supplementary Budget for the year 2009-10.
Leader of the Opposition, Ch. Zahir-ud-Din opened the speech on the Supplementary Budget for the Year 2009-10. The following members participated:- Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari, Mr. Sher Ali Khan, Mr. Saeed Akbar Khan, Ms. Seemal Kamran, Mian Muhammad Rafique, Mrs. Amna Ulfat, Malik Jalal Din Dhakku, Ch. Ali Asghar Manda, Mrs. Deeba Mirza, Maj(R) Zulfiqar Ali Gondal, Mian Naseer Ahmed, Muhammad Mueen Wattoo, Rai Muhammad Aslam Khan, Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema, Rana Muhammad Arshad, Ch. Ehsan-ul-Haq Ahsan Nolatia, Mrs. Nazma Jawad Hashmi, Syeda Majida Zaidi.
Minister for Finance, Mr Tanvir Ashraf Kaira delivered winding-up speech on Supplementary Budget for the year 2010-11.
Then, the House was adjourned till 10.00 am on Thursday 24 June, 2010.
