      MOTION UNDER RULE 244-A OF THE RULES OF PROCEDURE OF THE PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLY OF THE PUNJAB 1997

 

            A MINISTER to move that leave be granted to move the proposed amendment in sub-rule (1) of Rule 148 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997.

            A MINISTER to move that the proposed amendment in sub-rule (1) of Rule 148 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997 be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the proposed amendment in sub-rule (1) of Rule 148 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997 be passed.

 

            Note:   The proposed amendment is given in the Annexure.

 

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS

 

1.   THE PUNJAB URBAN IMMOVABLE PROPERTY TAX (AMENDMENT) BILL 2010 (Bill No. 5 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Urban Immovable Property Tax (Amendment) Bill 2010, as recommended by Standing Committee on Excise & Taxation, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Urban Immovable Property Tax (Amendment) Bill 2010 be passed.

 

2.   THE PUNJAB LAND REVENUE (AMENDMENT) BILL 2010 (Bill No. 9 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill 2010, as recommended by Standing Committee on Revenue, Relief and Consolidation be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill 2010 be passed.

 

3.   THE PUNJAB PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP FOR INFRASTRUCTURE BILL 2009 (Bill No. 29 of 2009)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Public-Private Partnership for Infrastructure Bill 2009, as recommended by Standing Committee on  Planning and Development be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Public-Private Partnership for Infrastructure Bill 2009 be passed.

 

4.   THE WOMEN UNIVERSITY MULTAN BILL 2010 (Bill No. 4 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Women University Multan Bill 2010, as recommended by Standing Committee on Education, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Women University Multan Bill 2010 be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Muhammad Ali followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Mr. Sarwar Hussain Naqshbandi.


Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Local Government and Community Development department were asked and Ch. Abdul Razzaq Dhillon , Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government and Community Development department answered the questions.

Call Attention Notice:-

Only one Call Attention Notice was taken up. Notice moved by Rana Tanveer Ahmad Nasir regarding newspaper report about the dacoits, who blocked the Sheikupura-Faisalabad express road and looted several passengers.

Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs answered the notice.

Laying of Reports:-

1.        Ch. Ali Asghar Manda presented the report of Standing Committee on Irrigation and Power in respect of “The Punjab Power Development Board (Amendment) Bill 2010 (Bill No. 8 of 2010)” before the House.  

Privilege Motions:-

Only one Privilege motion was taken up. The motion moved by Lt. Col (R) Muhammad Shabbir Awan regarding fictitious FIR against the concerned member was referred to the Standing Committee on Privileges.

The motion was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Six Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Syed Hassan Murtaza regarding  Al-Hajvery University, which has yet not been given degree awarding status was kept pending till tomorrow. Three motions moved by Mrs.‏ Nighat Nasir Sheikh regarding newspaper report about lease of land worth billions of rupees to a Plaza owner at Liberty Chowk by the PHA, motion regarding newspaper report about increasing of beggers in Lahore and her third motion regarding newspaper report about class one syllabus, motion moved by Mrs.‏ Amna Ulfat regarding civil works at Mustafa Road, Singhpura, Lahore, lingering on for the past four years and  last adjournment motion moved by Lt. Col (R) Muhammad Shabbir Awan regarding lower staff and doctors of THQ, Kahuta, who are involved in criminal activities were kept pending till next week.  

The motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

 

Government Business:-

MOTION UNDER RULE 244-A OF THE RULES OF PROCEDURE OF THE PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLY OF THE PUNJAB 1997:

Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs moved that leave be granted for the motion of the proposed amendment in sub-rule (1) of Rule 148 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, before the House. The proposed amendment was passed by the House.

 

At this stage the quorum was pointed out and the House was then adjourned till 9:00 am on Friday, July 9, 2010.
