      THE WOMEN UNIVERSITY MULTAN BILL 2010 (Bill No. 4 of 2010)

            RESUMPTION OF CLAUSE-BY-CLAUSE consideration (from clause 10) of the Women University Multan Bill 2010, as recommended by Standing Committee on Education.

            A MINISTER to move that the Women University Multan Bill 2010 be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar Shakir followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Abid Rouf Qadri.

 

Questions Hour: −

Questions relating to Livestock & Dairy Development Department were asked and Minister for Livestock & Dairy Development Department (holding additional charge), Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, answered the questions.

 

Call Attention Notice:-

Two call attention notices were taken up. The notice moved by Mrs.‏ Ayesha Javed regarding newspaper report about killing of a young female, resident of Harbanspura, who was kidnapped and raped by some unidentified persons, other notice moved by Ms. Aneela Akhtar Chaudhry regarding newspaper report about the assassination of 25 year-old Naheed Akthar, resident of Raiwind, who was kidnapped and raped by four persons, were disposed of as the movers were absent.

 

The notices were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Fourteen adjournment motions were taken up.

Four motions moved by Sheikh Ala ud Din one regarding high level of toxic material and chemicals used in toys for children, motion regarding Saint Danish Girls High School, Kashmir Point, Murree, which was closed for setting on fire twice, were disposed of, motion regarding illegal possession of land of Government Islamia Higher Secondary School, Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi, and his fourth motion regarding discouraging plastic water bottle and promoting tap water for drinking, were kept pending till next session.

Three motions moved by Khalid Saleem Bhatti one regarding newspaper report about the illegal possession of land by Patwari, at Mujahid colony, Burewala, motion regarding newspaper report about the out-of-order tube wells of Burewala city, were disposed of and his third motion regarding incomplete water supply scheme started at Burewala city, Tehsil, Burewala, was kept pending till next week.

Two motions moved by Mr. Muhammad Jamil Shah one demanding Schools for boys and girls in his constituency and other motion regarding allotment numbers for Numberdars and motion moved by Mr. Malik Muhammad Javed Iqbal regarding civil works for Government Girls Degree College, Nowshera, were disposed of as the movers were not present.

Three motions moved by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik one regarding newspaper report about 50 percent increase in rates of the houses allotted to the retired government officials, motion regarding newspaper report about death of two persons including 18 year-old Salma Bibi, resident of  Harbanspura and third motion regarding newspaper report about selling of juice in Lahore being extracted from cats’ feed, and motion moved by Al-Haaj Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti regarding ignoring diploma holders for the jobs in Education department, were kept pending till next week.

The motions were answered by Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.


Extension in Time Limit For Laying the Reports:-

On the Motion moved by Mr. Ijaz Ahmed Khan, the House granted extension up to one month to Standing Committee on Law & Parliamentary Affairs for laying its reports on

1.         The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Privileges (Amendment) Bill 2008 (Bill No. 15 of 2008) moved by Ch Aamar Sultan Cheema, MPA (PP-32).

2.         The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Privileges (Amendment) Bill 2008 (Bill No. 17 of 2008) moved by Mrs Amna Ulfat, MPA (W-356).

3.         The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Privileges (Amendment) Bill 2009 (Bill No.6of 2009) moved by Ch Muhammad Asad Ullah, MPA (PP-106)

On the Motion moved by Ms. Nafisa Amin, the House granted extension up to 30th September, 2010 to Standing Committee on Labour and Human Resource for laying its report on “The Punjab Industrial Relations Bill 2010 (Bill No. 18 of 2010)”.

 

Laying of Reports:-

Ch. Tahir Mehmood Hundli Advocate presented the reports of Standing Committee on Health in respect of “The Punjab Healthcare Bill, 2009 (Bill No. 31 of 2009)” before the House.

 

Bill:-

The bill of Multan University was under consideration.

At this stage, the quorum was pointed out and then the House was adjourned till 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 20, 2010.
