SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Muhammad Ali Qadri followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Server Hussain Naqshbandi.


Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Population Welfare and Transport Departments were asked and Parliamentary Secretary for Population Welfare Department, Engineer Javed Akbar Dhilloon and Parliamentary Secretary for Transport, Mr. Muhammad Khuram Gulfam answered the questions.

 

Privilege Motion:-

Only one Privilege Motion was taken up. The motion moved by  Syed Muhammad Rafi-ul-Din Bukhari regarding misbehavior of Mr. Tahir Ejaz, SHO, Lodhran Police Station was kept pending till Thursday.

The motion was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motion:-

Only one adjournment motion was taken up. The motion moved by Mrs.‏ Nighat Nasir Sheikh regarding newspaper report about the closing of PCR Machine, used for Hepatitis tests, installed at Mayo Hospital, Lahore, was kept pending till next week.     

The motion was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.


Private Members’ Day:-

Resolutions on Matters of General Public Interest:-

1)         The resolution moved by Mr. Khurram Nawab demanding the government to declare entire newly constructed bypass a Limited Excess Road and to ban construction around the bypass, was disposed of as the mover was not present.

2)         The resolution moved by Dr. Samia Amjad demanding the government to establish Quran University, was disposed of as the mover was not present.

3)         The resolution moved by Seemal Kamran demanding the government to arrange free education for students up to B.A, was disposed of as the mover was not present.

4)         The resolution moved by Engineer Shahzad Elahi demanding the government to fix quota for the students of other provinces for getting admission in Medical College, Dera Ghazi Khan was disposed of as the mover was absent.

5)         The resolution moved by Ch. Zahir-ud-Din demanding the government to gross pension upto 60 percent instead of 50 percent and commutation upto 40 percent instead of 25 percent for the families of government officials, who died during service was disposed of as the mover was absent.

6)         The resolution moved by Ch. Muhammad Ayyaz demanding Local Government elections in the Cantonment area, as well was unanimously passed by the House. 

 

Then, the House was adjourned till 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 21, 2010.

"یہ ایوان، وفاقی حکومت سے سفارش کرتا ہے کہ آئندہ چند ماہ میں ہونے والے مقامی حکومتوں کے انتخابات کے ساتھ کنٹونمنٹس کے زیرانتظام علاقوں میں بھی انتخابات کرائے جائیں تاکہ ان علاقوں میں بھی مقامی حکومتیں قائم ہو سکیں اور آئین کے تحت حق نمائندگی ان علاقوں کے رہائشیوں کو بھی حاصل ہو جس سے وہ پچھلے 11سال سے محروم ہیں۔"
