GOVERNMENT BUSINESS

 

1.   AMENDMENT IN THE RULES OF PROCEDURE OF THE PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLY OF THE PUNJAB 1997

 

            A MINISTER to move that the proposed amendment in the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, regarding pre-budget discussion, as recommended by the Standing Committee on Law & Parliamentary Affairs, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the proposed amendment be passed.

 

2.   THE FOREST (AMENDMENT) BILL 2010 (Bill No. 20 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Forest (Amendment) Bill 2010, as recommended by Standing Committee on Forestry and Fisheries, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Forest (Amendment) Bill 2010 be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Noor Muhammad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Abid Rauf Qadri.

 

Question Hour: −

 

Questions relating to Auqaf Department were asked and Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi, Minister for Auqaf answered the questions.

 

Fateha:-

 

The House offered fateha on the sad demise of Mother-in-law of Seemal Kamran MPA (W-362) and uncle of Ms. Sakina Shaheen Khan, MPA (W-321).

 

Privilege Motion:

 

Only one Privilege Motion was taken up, moved by Sardar Khalid Saleem Bhatti regarding misbehavior of Mr. Shahid Lak, DDOR, Burewala, and was kept pending till next week.

 

The motion was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

 

Adjournment Motions:-

 

Fourteen Adjournment Motions were taken up. Motion moved by Shaikh Allaud Din regarding lack of a system to keep criminals from recruitment in the police department, motion moved by Mr. Ijaz Ahmed Khan regarding newspaper report about kidnap of Dr. Ali Abdullah, House officer, Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, two motions moved by Mrs. Khadija Umar one regarding brutal killing of two brothers in Sialkot, were disposed of and other motion regarding newspaper report about increasing crime in Baghbanpura, Lahore was kept pending till Friday.

 

Four motions moved by Ms Seemal Kamran, one regarding newspaper report about an illegal construction of Slug Well at Badian Road, Lahore, without taking NOC by the Contractor from Environment department, other motion regarding newspaper report about only 136 ventilators at five government hospitals for the population of 10 million of Lahore, motion regarding newspaper report about lack of cleanliness at UC 1, Ward No. 2, despite presence of more than 40 sanitary workers and her last motion regarding selling of substandard agri-products in the Punjab, motion moved by Rana Tanveer Ahmad Nasir regarding the death of an 11- month old infant namly Sufian at Mayo Hospital, motion moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood regarding old water supply and sewerage pipelines at Dinga, District Gujrat, motion moved by Major (R) Abdul Rehman Rana regarding land given to the private people by the army and motion moved by Mr. Raja Shoukat Aziz Bhatti regarding Altaf Hussain, Leader of MQM, dememding of the army to impose martial law, were disposed of as the movers were not present.

 

Motion moved by Mrs. Amna Ulfat demanding promotion of Secondary School Teachers (SST) in Lahore, motion moved by Mian Muhammad Rafiq about selling of Canal Rest Houses in the province along with their lands by Punjab Privatization Board, were kept pending till next week.

 

The motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

 

Government Business:

 

Amendment in the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of The Punjab :-

 

Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved the Amendment in the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, which was passed by the House.

 

Bill:-

 

Later he moved the following bill which was also passed by the House.

 

The Forest (Amendment) Bill 2010 (Bill No. 20 of 2010),

 

Then, the House was adjourned till 10:00 am on Thursday, October 14, 2010.
