      THE PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENT (AMENDMENT) BILL 2010 (Bill No. 21 of 2010)

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2010, as recommended by Standing Committee on Local Government and Rural Development, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2010 be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Noor Muhammad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Mr. Sarwar Hussain Naqshbandi. 

 

Fateha:-

 

The House offered fateha on the sad demise of Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari, former President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

 

Question Hour:  

 

Questions relating to Higher Education Department were asked and Mian Mujtaba Shuja- ur -Rehman, Minister for Excise & Taxation (Holding additional charge) answered the questions.

 

Call Attention Notices:-

 

Only one Call Attention Notice was taken up, moved by Khawaja Muhammad Islam regarding dacoits, who looted gold worth 30.5 million rupees from Naveed Jewelers, Rail Bazar, Faisalabad .

 

The Notice was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Zaheer-ud-Din regarding newspaper report about not preserving 76,000 metric ton of wheat by Food Department, motion moved by Mrs. Khadija Umar regarding newspaper report about lack of dengue wards in hospitals in Lahore for the dengue virus patients, motion moved by Mian Muhammad Naveed Anjum regarding selling land of Lahore College for Women university, Lahore illegally, motion moved by Khawaja Muhammad Islam regarding dacoits, who looted gold 30.5 million rupees from Naveed Jewelers, Rail Bazar, Faisalabad, motion moved by Shaikh Allaud Din one promoting tap water instead of plastic water bottle, motion moved by Mrs. Shagufta Sheikh regarding newspaper report about corruption of 90 million in the Punjab Bank, motion moved by Mian Naseer Ahmed regarding newspaper report about torture on Omer Cheema, Senior member, investigation cell, The News, motion moved by Ch.
