Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Acting Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Noor Muhammad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Mr. Akhtar Hussain Quraishi.

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Home Department were asked and answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, (holding additional charge).

Privilege Motion:

Only one Privilege Motion moved by of Mr. Javed Allo-ud-Din Sajid regarding misbehavior of Mahar Muhammad Irshad Sial, EDO Health, District Okara was disposed of.

The motion was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Eighteen Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood regarding embezzlement of revenue amount in connivance with TMA Cattle Market, Kharian, was kept pending, Two motions moved by Ms Seemal Kamran regarding not appointing Teachers against vacant seats at Jinnah Medical College and the other Motion regarding corruption in City District Government, three Motions moved by Mrs.‏ Samina Khawar Hayat regarding fraud in Punjab Police fund, the motion regarding kidnapping and gang rape of two girls at Chechawatni and the motion regarding irregularities at a large scale in Green Tractor Scheme started by the Punjab Government, the motion moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood regarding closing of a Bus Stand in connivance with TMA Kharian at Dinga, District Gujrat, the Motion moved by Syeda Majida Zaidi regarding increase in the price of the Urea fertilizer, two Motions moved by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik, one regarding discrimination by S&GAD in the provision of Government residences to the Additional and Deputy Secretaries of the Punjab Assembly who are allotted low category houses as compared to their counter parts working in the Punjab government were kept pending till next week. The Motion regarding increase in the fares of Patriata Chair Lift, Murree, due to raise in the Excise duty from 25% to 60% was kept pending till 12-1-2011. The Motion moved by Sardar Khalid Saleem Bhatti regarding use of low quality and substandard material by Public Health Engineering Department in the construction of Sewerage Pipelines at Lahore Road Burewala, District Vehari which resulted over flow, the Motion moved by Syeda Majida Zaidi regarding slow process of sugarcane crushing in the Punjab, the motion moved by Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema regarding lavish spending by Punjab Bureaucracy in the construction and decoration of their officer, three motions moved by Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Chohan, regarding shortage of tube wells to supply enough water to two million people at Gujranwala City, Gujranwala, other regarding odd location and over crowdedness and lack of facilities in Gujranwala Jail, and the motion regarding dilapidated condition of roads in Gujranwala City were disposed of as the movers were not present. The motion moved by Khawaja Muhammad Islam regarding vacancies of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, Professors, Cardiac Surgeons and Cardiac Physicians available at Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology, Faisalabad, the motion moved by Ms Seemal Kamran regarding change of examination Schedule of class 5 and class 7 by the Punjab Examination Commission, which is conducting examination of more than three papers in one day and the motion moved by Mrs Samina Khawar Hayat regarding assassination of Mr Waqar resident of Kot Abdul Malik and inability of Police to arrest the criminals were disposed of.

Private Members Day:-

Resolutions on Matters of General Public Interest:-

1.         The Resolution moved by Mrs.‏ Samina Khawar Hayat regarding separate transport facility for Women was withdrawn by the mover.

2.         The Resolution of Mrs.‏ Samina Naveed regarding regularization of Population Welfare employees was disposed of due to her absence.

3.         The Resolution tabled by Mian Naseer Ahmed regarding provision of footpath on both sides of main roads in urban areas as compulsory was unanimously passed by the House.

4.         Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari through his Resolution demanded that IRSA should be reconstituted to ensure implementation of 1991 Accord and to avoid any confrontation among provinces over water issue and suggested that fifth member should be neutral or appointed or named from Islamabad or Azad Kashmir. The Resolution was unanimously passed by the House.

5.         The Resolution presented by Khawaja Muhammad Islam demanding the Federal Government to withdraw gas load shedding schedule and ensure provision of gas supply in the Punjab on merit was unanimously passed by the House.

The House was then adjourned till 10:00 am, Wednesday, 12th January, 2011.
