Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation by Qari Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar Shakir followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) by Mian Marghoob Ahmad Hamdani.

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Information Department were asked and answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs (Holding Additional Charge).

Privilege Motions:-

The Privilege Motion of Ch Shahid Anjum regarding misbehavior of Agha Ahsan Ullah, XEN, Irrigation Department, Bahawalnagar was referred to the Standing Committee on Privileges.

The motion was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Twenty one Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Engineer Shahzad Elahi regarding disposal of old stock of 50 kg PP bags used to preserve Wheat by the Food Department, the Motion moved by Mrs. Khadija Umar regarding increase in the fare of Inter City Urban Transport, the Motion moved by Mr. Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry regarding gang rape of a woman in Kasur, the Motion moved by Ms Seemal Kamran regarding demolition of sixty shops by Revenue Department at Addamongi Bangla Gojra, Faisalabad, the Motion moved by Dr. Samia Amjad, regarding fraud of crores of rupees in Ring Road Land acquisition project, the Motion moved by Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema regarding provision of Government residence to Mr Rafique Tarar, Former President of Pakistan by Punjab Government were disposed of. Two Motions moved by Ms Seemal Kamran, regarding illegal Sale of shops, houses and godowns by TMA, Kasur and the other regarding non-implementation of notices being served by Colonies Department upon owners of housing societies either to vacate government property illegally possessed by them or to pay its cost, two Motions moved by Dr. Samia Amjad, regarding constant increase Lahore in the numbers of patients suffering from Swine Flu and other regarding non availability of specialized training for doctors and staff working in teaching and District hospitals to treat patient suffering from Swine Flu, two Motions moved by Mrs. Khadija Umar, regarding non payment of salaries to the work charge employees of Buildings Department working at Allied Hospital and Punjab Medical College and other regarding corruption in the development projects under taken at Jallo Park and Changamanga Resorts, two motions moved by Syeda Majida Zaidi, one regarding conversion of graveyard land into residential and commercial plots in Pak Arab Housing Society by LDA Directors and other regarding non availability of record of temporary seats and sofas to watch stage drams on expensive tickets and the Motion moved by Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar regarding extension of Multan Road and payment on market value rates to the owners of shop keepers possessing property on Multan Road rather than the rates fixed by the Board of Revenue were kept pending till 25-1-11,  Four motions moved by Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Kahlon, one regarding spread of diseases due to contaminated drinking water in Sargodha, other regarding New Satellite Town, Sargodha becoming center of problems for the inhabitants due to negligence and carelessness of Sargodha Management thus the condition of the area becoming from bad to worse, third Motion regarding sale of drugs in Sargodha city and the last Motion regarding corruption and embezzlement in Irrigation Department, the Motion moved by Mr. Muhammad Sana Ullah Khan Masti Khel regarding admissions in MBBS classes in the University of Health Sciences against quota seats reserved for candidates belonging to rural areas were disposed of as the movers were not present.

The Motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Government Business:-

Continuation to Pre-Budget General Discussion Seeking Proposals of the Members for the Budget 2011-12:-

In continuation to the Pre-Budget general discussion, Seeking Proposals from the Members for the Budget 2011-12, the Members who participated in the discussion were: Mian Naseer Ahmed, Mrs.‏ Sahibzadi Nargis Zafar, Malik Muhammad Aamir Dogar, Ms. Arifa Khalid Pervez, Mrs.  Nargis Faiz Malik, Ms Seemal Kamran, Dr. Asma Mamdoot, Mian Muhammad Rafiq, Syed Abrar Hussain Shah, Ch. Ali Asghar Manda, Ch. Javed Ahmad, Mr. Ijaz Ahmed Khan, Mr. Tariq Mehmood Bajwa and Mrs.‏ Saba Sadiq.    

The House was then adjourned till 3:00 pm on Monday, January 24, 2011.
