Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Acting Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Panel of Chairmen:-

The Secretary Assembly announced the Panel of Chairmen for the session, as envisaged in Rule 13 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997. The names of the Panel, in order of precedence, are as under:-

1.         Dr. Asad Ashraf, MPA (PP-138)

2.                  Mian Yawar Zaman, MPA (PP-191)

3.                  Sardar Muhammad Amanullah Khan Dreshak, (PP-249)

4.                  Syeda Bushra Nawaz Gardezi, MPA (W-352)

Question Hour:-

Questions relating to Irrigation and Power Department were asked and Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Minister for Agriculture (holding additional charge) answered the questions.

Call Attention Notices:

Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice of Hafiz Muhammad Qamar Hayat Kathiya about prowling of thread and raw material by dacoits at Shaheez Sizing Mill located at Gojjra road, Jhang and other Notice of Ch. Zaheer-ud-Din about recovery of eight dead bodies from a well at Haji Shah Area, Attock were disposed of.

The Notices were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Privilege Motions:-

Two Privilege Motions were taken up. The motion of Seemal Kamran regarding non presentation of Annual Report of Bait-Ul-Mal for the year 2010 before the House and other motion of Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema regarding not laying of Annual Report of The Punjab Public Service Commission for the year 2010 before the House were kept pended till next session.

The Motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Government Business:-

General Discussion on Wheat Procurement during the Year 2011:-

Minister for Food, Abdul Ghafoor opened the debate in the House on Wheat Procurement during the Fiscal year 2011. He said that 375 wheat procurement centers have been set up in various parts and the Punjab government intends to procure four million tons of wheat this year. The following members participated in the discussion: Mr Raja Riaz (Leader of the Opposition), Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari, Dr. Samia Amjad, Mrs. Amna Ulfat, Najmi Saleem, Ms. Fozia Behram, MR. Ahmed Hussain Deharr, Malik Muhammad Waris Kalo, Mr. Muhammad Sana Ullah Khan Masti Khel, Rai Muhammad Aslam Khan, Muhammad Hafeez Akhtar Ch, Mr. Saeed Akbar Khan, Dr. Amna Butter, Ch. Ehsan-ul-Haq Ahsan Nolatia, Syed Hassan Murtaza, Ch. Muhammad Tariq Gujjar, Mr. Shah Rukh Malik, Malik Nosher Khan Langerial, Mr. Muhammad Tariq Amin Hotyana, Mr.Asif Bashir Bhagat, Sardar Athar Hassan Khan Gorchani, Al-Haaj Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti, Khawaja Muhammad Islam, Rana Tanveer Ahmad Nasir, Ms. Asifa Farooqi and Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna.

When Minister for Food was giving wind up speech the quorum was pointed out and the session was adjourned sine die.
