Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Fateha:-
The House offered fateha for Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on her Birth Anniversary falling on 21 June.
Adjournment Motions:-
Eight Adjournment Motions were taken up. Two Motions were moved by Shaikh Allaud Din, one regarding expiry of expensive medicines at various government hospitals of Punjab and their timely delivery to the patients and other regarding increase in violence against women in the Province of Punjab during the last two year, motion moved by Haji Muhammad Ishaq regarding embezzlement of millions of Rupees of drugs and narcotics and ammunition from main store house in District Court, motion moved by Ms. Sajida Mir regarding 18 private companies engaged in interest acquiring business in Lahore inviolation of law, motion moved by Mrs. Amna Ulfat regarding problems being faced by government employees of the Punjab in receiving Scholarships for their children through benevolent fund were disposed of, The motion moved by Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna about awarding of illegal MBBS degree to Muhammad Imtiaz Mubashir S/O Prof. Hussain Mubashir, Vice Chanceller of University of Health Sciences by Wah Medical College, motion moved by Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema regarding non installation and non functional of “Paid Strain Bridge” opposite District Headquarter Hospital Sargodha inspite of full payment of funds for the project to the Department of Profesional High ways Sargodha were kept pending till next week. The motion by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik regarding non provision of Dialysis facility at Public Hospitals was kept pending till next session.
The Motions were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Government Business:-
Discussion and Voting on Demands for Grants 2011-2012:-
Mr. Kamran Michael the minister for Finance moved Demands for grants in respect of Police, Education, Agriculture, Health Services and State Trading in Food grains and Sugar, Which were opposed and opposition members moved the cut motions. They also delivered speeches on the cut motions. However, the House disposed of the cut motions and approved the grants.
