Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Motion under Rule 234:-
Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan moved the motion under Rule 234 of Rule Of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1937, regarding suspending of Rules, which was unanimously passed by the House.
Government Business:-
General Discussion on Health with Special Reference to Dengue:-
Dr. Saeed Elahi, Parliamentary Secretary for Health initiated and winded up the Speech on Health with Special Reference to Dengue. He said that 90 percent of the dengue patients were from Lahore and 10 percent came from other parts of the Province. He added that machinery and medicines were being imported from Germany and India respectively. Public hospital’s capacity had been increased by 2000 beds, patients were being provided free treatment and Laboratories and Blood Banks were working at their optimal capacity.
