SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Acting Speaker, assumed the Chair and the proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Industries, Trade and Commerce and Investment Departments were asked and answered by Rana Tajamal Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Industry.

Privilege Motion:

The Privilege Motion moved by Mahar Irshad Ahmad Khan Sial regarding misbehavior of DPO, Muzaffargarh with the member concerned was referred to the Privilege Committee.

The Motion was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Thirteen Adjournment Motions were taken up, Two Motions moved by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik, one regarding embezzlement of Rs. 20 million at University of Engineering was disposed of and other regarding identification of ghost Pera Medical Institute scandal in Health Department, The motion moved by Ch. Zaheer-ud-Din regarding tempering the official record and allotting 10 marlas and170 feet Government land to Muhammad Akram S/o Muhammad Jamil by Sameen Khan, Ex-Revenue officer and Mr Irfan, Patwari, motion moved by Mrs.‏ Nighat Sheikh about fifty lady factory workers becoming unconscious due to chemical leakage in Chichawatni city, three motions moved by Seemal Kamran, one regarding stray dogs wondering  in district Lahore and biting people, other about corruption occurred in Revenue Department at Sangla Hill, and  the Motion moved regarding  corruption in the distribution and allotment of government land to the poor residents of Toba Tak Singh District, four motions moved by Sardar Khalid Saleem Bhatti, one regarding not taking action against illegal flour mills and marble factories in PP-233 in member’s concerned constituency by the Environmental Protection Department, second regarding non developmental work at Burewala city were kept pending till next week. While third motion moved by him regarding problems being faced by the students of Government Commerce College Burewala due to ever changing policies of Bahauddin Zakariya University and last motion regarding problems being faced by farmers because of irrigation policy imposed in PP-233 and a motion moved by Shaikh Allaud Din one regarding non provision of particulars of Sugar Mills owners dealers to the Punjab Government were disposed of, while other motion by him regarding issuance of  Motor Fitness Certificate to condemn vehicles by the Motor Vehicle Examiner working under Road Transport Authority were kept pending till next week.  

Private Members Day:-

Resolutions on Matters of General Public Interest:-

1.         The Resolution moved by Ms. Naseem Nasir Khawaja demanded of the Punjab Government to make the study of the Holy Quran with translation and interpretation, as well as Ahadith as integral part of the syllabus for students upto Matriculation to acquaint them with Islamic Principles was unanimously passed by the House.

اس ایوان کی رائے ہے کہ حکومت پنجاب میٹرک تک کے طلباء کے لئے قرآن پاک (ترجمہ و تفسیر)و احادیث مبارکہ کو تعلیمی نصاب کا لازمی حصہ قرار دے تاکہ وہ قرآن و حدیث سے مکمل استفادہ کرتے ہوئے صحیح طور پر اسلامی اصولوں سے روشناس ہو سکیں۔

2.         The Resolution moved by Mrs.‏ Samina Khawar Hayat stressing the Federal Government to regularize the services of contract and daily wages employees of Utility Stores Corporation serving in grade 14-18 was unanimously passed by the House.

یہ ایوان وفاقی حکومت سے اس امر کی سفارش کرتا ہے کہ جس طرح یوٹیلٹی سٹور آف پاکستان کے گریڈ 1 تا 13کے کنٹریکٹ اور ڈیلی ویجز ملازمین کو مستقل کیا گیا ہے اسی طرح کنٹریکٹ اور ڈیلی ویجز ملازمین و افسران کی کارکردگی بڑھانے کیلئےیوٹیلٹی سٹور آف پاکستان کے گریڈ 14تا 18 کے ملازمین کو بھی مستقل کر دیا جائے۔ 

3.         The Resolution moved by Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari asking the Punjab Government to fix quota of seats in the Dera Ghazi Khan Medical College for students of other Provinces thus to promote brotherhood among all federating units was unanimously passed by the House.

یہ ایوان صوبائی حکومت سے اس امر کی سفارش کرتا ہے کہ ڈیرہ غازیخان میڈیکل کالج میں دیگر صوبوں کے طلباء و طالبات کے لئے بھی کوٹہ مختص کیا جائے تاکہ تمام صوبوں کے درمیان بھائی چارے اور قومی یک جہتی کو فروغ ملے۔ 

4.         The Resolution moved by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik demanding to give Tehsil status to Bhera (District Sargodha) in view of its historical, literary and cultural importance was also unanimously passed by the House.

اس ایوان کی رائے ہے کہ قدیم تاریخی، علمی، ادبی اور ثقافتی اہمیت کے پیش نظر بھیرہ (ضلع سرگودھا)کو تحصیل کا درجہ دیا جائے۔

The House was then adjourned till 10:00 am on Wednesday, December, 14, 2011.
