            A MINISTER to move that a special order be made under rule 225(2) of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, for continuance of the Punjab Administrator General’s (Amendment) Bill 2011.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Administrator General’s (Amendment) Bill 2011, as recommended by Standing Committee on Law and Parliamentary Affairs, be taken into consideration at once.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Social Welfare and Women Development Department were asked and answered by Mr. Kamran Michael, Minister for Finance (holding additional charge).

Leave of absence:-

Special Secretary Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Dr. Malik Aftab Maqbool Joiya read out the leave applications of the following members and the House granted them leave.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal (PP-121), Ms. Arifa Khalid Pervez (W-305), Mr. Ghulam Jaffar Sargana (PP-212), Ch. Moonis Elahi (PP-110) and Ch. Javed Ahmad (PP-228).

Call Attention Notices:-

The Call Attention Notice moved by Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Kahlon regarding killing of one Mr Abdul Rasheed, resident of Audit and Accounts Housing Scheme, District Kasur, injuring his son Muhammad Zahid and nephew Ali Ahmad and stealing gold and cash from him by the dacoits and the Notice of Ms. Sajida Mir about killing two people and injuring three people by dacoits at Nankanasahib were disposed of.

The Notices were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Privilege Motions:-

Two Privilege Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Hafiz Muhammad Qamar Hayat Kathiya regarding misconduct of Malik Waris, S.H.O Shorkot city with the member concerned and the other motion of Ms. Rifat Sultana Dar regarding misconduct of Police officer with the member concerned were kept pending till next week.

The Motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Fifteen Motions were taken up. The motions moved by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik regarding identification of ghost Pera Medical Institute scandal in Health Department, and the other about delay in the imbursement of salaries to the teachers and professor of six colleges and later protest by them, the motion moved by Rai Muhammad Aslam Khan regarding selling of fertilizer at black rates by the dealers at Shahkot, the motion moved by Dr. Samia Amjad regarding changing status of General Doctors to Teaching Cadres by a certain group of doctors in violation of rules thus favoring their favorite candidates, the two motions moved by Malik Muhammad Aamir Dogar one regarding recommending and sending patients to private laboratories for their medical tests by Senior doctors and Professors to get their commission thus making medical “kits” redundant supplied by the government in different hospital of Punjab and other motion regarding 55% less tax collection targeted by the concerned department, three motions moved by Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema, one regarding failure in spending money allocated for Drainage system at Sargodha, the other regarding failure in desilting drainage system at district Sargodha by the concerned Department and the last motion about failure to spend money allocated for re-boring of tube wells by the concerned Department at district Sargodha, the motion moved by Mrs. Nighat Sheikh regarding violation of rules and regulations of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council by Private Teaching Hospitals to provide free medical aid to 50% poor patients resulting in overburdening government teaching hospitals, the motion moved by Ms Samina Khawar Hayat regarding killing of 9 years old Usman residing at Sherakot Lahore and then burying him without under taking his autopsy were disposed off, while the motions moved by Mrs Nighat Nasir Sheikh one about delay in the start of B.Sc Crime Studies classes at Police training Institute Sahala and the other motion  about wrong information provided in the syllabus books of students printed by Punjab Text Book Board for the classes from 1 to 10, the motion moved by Hafiz Muhammad Qamar Hayat Kathiya about demolition and then  shifting of Lady Wallington Hospital to Lari Adda were kept pending till next week. And the motion moved by Mrs Nighat Nasir Sheikh regarding corrupt practices occurring in Excise and Taxation Department was referred to the standing Committee on Excise and Taxation.
