Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Irrigation and Power Department were asked and answered by Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Minister for Agriculture (holding additional charge).

Call Attention Notices:-

Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice moved by Col (R) Muhammad Abbas Chaudhary about killing of a security guard and injuring another in a bank dacoity located at Hamdard chawk, Township, Lahore by the dacoits and other Notice of Khawaja Muhammad Islam regarding killing of a student by dacoits in front of the University at Faisalabad were disposed of.

The Notices were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Extension In Time Limit For Laying The Reports:-

On Motions moved by Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, the House granted extension up to one month to Special Committee for laying its report on “To consider the issue of increasing the fees in private educational institutions raised by Mian Naseer Ahmad, MPA (PP-155)” and to Special Committee No. 13 for laying its report on “Progress of implementation of the recommendation of the previous special committee regarding Private Money Lending Act, 2007”.

Resolution:-

On the 4^th death anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Raja Riaz Ahmed, Leader of the Opposition through a Resolution praised her services she rendered for the country. The House paid rich tributes to her for being the first elected woman Prime Minister of any Islamic country. The resolution was unanimously passed by the House.

"یہ ایوان، شہید محترمہ بے نظیر بھٹو، جو کسی بھی اسلامی ملک کی پہلی منتخب وزیراعظم تھیں اور دو دفعہ مملکتِ خداداد کی وزیراعظم رہیں، کو خراج تحسین پیش کرتا ہے اور ان کی چوتھی برسی پر ان پر  ا ظہارِ عقیدت کے پھول نچھاور کرتا ہے اور یہ کہ  وہ پاکستان میں جمہوریت کے قیام و استحکام اور عوام کے حقوق کی خاطر جنگ کرتے ہوئے اور میثاقِ جمہوریت کے پودے کو تناور بنانے کی تگ و دو میں جمہوریت دُشمن اور ملک دُشمن قوتوں کے ہاتھوں شہید ہوئیں۔

پنجاب کے عوام کا یہ منتخب ایوان ان کی سیاسی، ملکی اور عوامی خدمات کو سراہتا ہے اور یہ عہد کرتا ہے کہ جمہوریت، عوامی خدمت اور اداروں کی مضبوطی تک جنگ جاری رکھیں گے۔"

Government Business:-

CONTINUATION OF GENERAL DISCUSSION ON AVAILABILITY OF FERTILIZER and PROBLEMS BEING FACED BY SUGARCANE GROWERS:-

Resuming general discussion on the second day on availability of Fertilizer and problems being faced by Sugarcane growers, the following members participated in the discussion:- Mian Muhammad Rafiq, Syed Hassan Murtaza, Ms Seemal Kamran, Ch. Ehsan-ul-Haq Ahsan Nolatia and Sheikh Allaud Din.

At this stage, the quorum was pointed out and the House was then adjourned till 10:00 am on Tuesday, December, 27, 2011.
