Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries Departments were asked and answered by Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Minister for Agriculture (holding additional charge).

Leave of absence:-

Secretary Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Mr. Maqsood Ahmad Malik read out the leave applications of the following members and the House granted them leave

Ms Joyce Fufin Julius (W-370), Mrs.‏ Nasim Lodhi (W-347), Haji Liaqat Ali (PP-51), Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan (PP-66), Ms. Fozia Behram

Call Attention Notices:-

Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice moved by Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna regarding killing of Mashkoor Hussain, resident of Imamia Colony, Ferozwala on resistance by three motorcyclists for the purpose of dacoity and injuring three pedestrians and the other Notice moved by Mrs.‏ Khadija Umar regarding killing a Manager working at kiln, located at Sarai Mughal, Kasur by the dacoits on resistance were disposed of.

The Notices were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Privilege Motions:-

Two Privilege Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Col (R) Naveed Iqbal Sajid regarding misbehavior of Arif Hameed, Managing Director, Sui Gas with the member concerned, and the other motion moved by Ch. Nadeem Khadim regarding misbehavior of Dr. Shahid, EDO Health, District Jehlum with the member concerned were kept pending till next session.

The Motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Three Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Ch. Zaheer-ud-Din regarding tempering the official record and allotting 10 marlas and 170 sq.ft Government land to Muhammad Akram S/o Muhammad Jamil by Sameen Khan, Ex-Revenue Officer and Mr Irfan, Patwari, the motion moved by Mrs.‏ Samina Khawar Hayat regarding delay in the development of Tourist Resort Project at Wagah Border  were kept pending till next session and the last motion moved by Ms. Azma Zahid Bukhari regarding befooling innocent people at the hands of fake “Pirs” and “foretellers”, was disposed of with the direction to constitute a committee on the matter.

The Motions were answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Government Business:-

GENERAL DISCUSSION ON THE REPORTS OF PUNJAB PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION FOR THE YEARS 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010

Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs opened the discussion on the reports of Punjab Public Service Commission for the years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. The following members participated in the discussion: Major (R) Abdul Rehman Rana, Mr. Ahmed Khan Balouch, Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan and Mian Muhammad Rafiq.

Laying of Report:-

Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari presented the report of Special Committee No. 17 before the House in respect of “Starred Question Nos. 5622 and 3874”.

Mr. Ijaz Ahmed Khan presented the report of Standing Committee on Law and Parliamentary Affairs before the House in respect of “The Punjab Public Defender Service Act 2007 (Repeal) Bill 2011(Bill No. 49 of 2011)”.

The House was then adjourned sine die.
