Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Fateha:-

The House offered fateha on the sad demise of Ex-MPA Mr. Hafeez Ullah Khan Nawani.

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Food Department were asked and answered by Mr. Muhammad Saeed Mughal, Parliamentary Secretary for Food.

Privilege Motions:-

The Motion moved by Ms. Zobia Rubab Malik regarding misbehavior of Police officials with the member concerned was kept pending till 29th February, 2012 on the request of the mover.

The Motion was answered by Mr. Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Three Adjournment Motions were taken up. Two Adjournment Motions moved by Shaikh Allaud Din, one regarding mysterious absence of 130 very expensive and prestigiously historical cannons from Mal Khanna, District Jhang and the other regarding fight between two students organizations at Punjab University, where number of students got injured and the motion moved by Mrs. Nighat Nasir Sheikh regarding twenty eight Colleges in four districts of Punjab working without regular Principals were kept pending till next week.

The Motions were answered by Mr. Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

At this stage, the quorum was pointed out and the House was then adjourned till 10:00 am on Tuesday, February, 28, 2012.
