Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Privilege Motions:-
Four Privilege Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Lt. Col (R) Muhammad Shabbir Awan regarding misbehavior of Mr Agha Nadeem Additional Secretary Industries and Mr. Ismail Iqbal, Deputy Chief Technical, with the member concerned was kept pending till next day, the Motion moved by Major (R) Abdul Rehman Rana regarding misbehavior of SP, Jaranwala with the member concerned was referred to the Privilege Committee, the Motion moved by Col (R) Naveed Iqbal Sajid regarding misbehavior of Ch. Zafar, Chief Engineer, Irrigation Department with the member concerned and the Motion moved by Rana Munawar Hussain alias Rana Munawar Ghous Khan regarding misbehavior of Dr. Fawad-ul-Hassan, District Coordinator National Programme, Sargodha with the member concerned were kept pending till next week.
The Motions were answered by Mr. Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.
Adjournment Motion:-
Adjournment Motion moved by Shaikh Allaud Din regarding environmental degradation in the historic valley of Kahun and Katas near Chawwa Saiden Shah, Chakwal on account of installation of Cement Factories in the area resulting in the barrenness of agricultural land was kept pending.
The Motion was answered by Mr. Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.
Government Business:-
Discussion and Voting on Demands for Grants for the Year 2012-13:-
Forty three demands for grants for the fiscal year 2012-13 were presented before the House.
The Opposition members moved cut motions; however the grants were approved with majority.
The House was then adjourned till 10:00 am on Thursday, June 21, 2012.
