Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Acting Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Irrigation Department were asked and Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Minister for Agriculture (holding additional charge) answered the questions.

Adjournment Motion:-

Mrs. Nighat Sheikh moved an Adjournment Motion regarding demand of Rs.2000/- to Rs.5000/- as annual funds in the Private Schools from the candidates/students of class 9th and 10th,  who wish to appear in the annual examination of 2013 and powerlessness of Education  Department to impose its authority in these institutions was kept pending till next week.

The Motion was answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Government Business:-

GENERAL DISCUSSION ON REPORTS OF DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITIES UNDER THE PUNJAB DEVELOPMENT OF CITIES ACT 1976 FOR THE YEAR 2009-2010.

Mr. Zafar Iqbal Nagra, Parliamentary Secretary for Housing & Urban Development opened the discussion on “The Reports of Development Authorities” under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 for the year 2009-10. Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, Ms. Saghira Islam and Dr Musarat Hasan participated in the discussion.   

Suspension of Rules:-

On a motion moved by Mr. Ijaz Ahmed Khan under Rule 234 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, the House granted leave to suspend Rule 115 and other Rules ibid, for taking up a Resolution.

Resolution:-

The Punjab Assembly passed a unanimous Resolution moved by Mr. Ijaz Ahmed Khan condemning the killing of the innocent Polio Workers by terrorists in Karachi, Peshawar and Charsaddah. The Resolution paid tribute to women Polio Workers who lost their lives in the time of duty and called for the immediate restoration of Polio vaccination campaign. The Resolution also demanded the Federal Government to ensure security of the workers.

"صوبائی اسمبلی پنجاب کا یہ ایوان کراچی، پشاور اور چارسدہ میں پولیو ورکرز کی ہلاکت کی پُرزور مذمت کرتا ہے۔ یہ ایوان پولیو ورکرز کے اہل خانہ اور لواحقین سے اظہار تعزیت کرتا ہے۔ اس ایوان کی رائے ہے کہ دہشت گرد ہمارے ملک کی آئندہ نسل کو اپاہج کر کے وطن عزیز کو صحت کے مسائل سے دوچار کرنا چاہتے ہیں جو کسی طرح اہل پاکستان کے لئے قابل قبول نہیں ہے۔

یہ ایوان وفاقی حکومت اور یونیسف سے مطالبہ کرتا ہے کہ پاکستان کے متاثرہ علاقوں میں انسداد پولیو مہم دوبارہ بحال کی جائے۔"

Laying of Reports:-

Malik Muhammad Waris Kallu presented the reports of the Standing Committee on Privileges before the House in respect of “Privilege Motion No. 23 for the year 2009, 21 for the year 2010, 2, 9, 67, 76, 77 for the year 2011 and 3,11 for the year 2012”.

Extension In Time Limit For Laying The Report:-

On a Motion moved by Mr. Ijaz Ahmed Khan, the House granted extension up to one month to the Special Committee No. 24 for laying its report on “Starred Question No. 4093*”.

The House was then adjourned till 3:00 pm on Monday 31st December, 2012.
