Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour: −

Questions relating to Health Department were asked and Dr. Saeed Elahi, Parliamentary Secretary for Health answered the questions.

Adjournment Motions:-

Five Adjournment Motions were taken up. Four Adjournment Motions moved by Shaikh Allauddin, one regarding torture upon Carpenters at the hands of staff of Forest Department who sealed their shops in the suburb of Changa Manga Forest to cover their own corruption who had become millionaire through embezzlement and bringing devastation to this forest, the second Motion regarding dilapidated condition of a road connecting Lahore Cantt station entrance with Lahore Cantt and Gulberg II, the third Motion regarding Punjab Medical College of Faisalabad is running its dental Department without permission and recognition by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and thus unable to award Degrees to 50 successful Graduates, and the fourth Motion regarding sudden termination of (AHS) Program in eleven Medical Colleges of the Punjab besides closing admissions in these courses. Moreover Government Medical Colleges affiliated with university of Health Sciences Lahore are also abolishing these courses, hence endangering the future of students who are unable to get admission in MBBS due to lack of few marks and the last Motion moved by Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan regarding illegal possession in terms of lease of land of Govt Muslim Model Girls High School Nigham Pura in PP-66 by one Mr Ghulam Muhammad Sabir in connivance with the Revenue Department were kept pending till next week.

The Motions were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Laying of Report:-

Mr. Yahya Gul Nawaz presented the report of the Standing Committee on Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering before the House in respect of “The Defence Housing Authority Rawalpindi 2013 (Bill No. 1 of 2013)”.

Government Business:-

Discussion on Issue of Violence Incident in Gujranwala By Doctors.

Dr. Saeed Elahi, Parliamentary Secretary for Health initiated and concluded the debate on the violent conduct of the young doctors against their seniors in Gujranwala and ignoring their professional responsibilities. He apprised the House that criminal cases have been registered against the young doctors who were involved in violence, besides initiating departmental inquiries. He further stated that government had adopted best possible measures to accept the demands of the young doctors and had increased their salaries to five percent. Rana Sana Ullah Khan Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs also claimed that government would not allow any one to dictate on the basis of vandalism. Ali Asghar Manda, Ms. Arifa Khalid Pervez, Mian Naseer and Mr. Pervez Rafique.  

Fateha:-

The House offered fateha for Former Governor Punjab, Salman Taseer on his second Death Anniversary. 

The House was then adjourned till 3:00 pm on Monday 7th January, 2013.
