      THE PUNJAB BOILERS AND PRESSURE VESSELS (AMENDMENT) BILL 2013 (Bill No. 7 of 2013)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Boilers and Pressure Vessels (Amendment) Bill 2013, as recommended by Special Committee No.1, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Boilers and Pressure Vessels (Amendment) Bill 2013, be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Fateha:-

The House offered fateha for mother of Mian Muhammad Saqib Khurshid (MPA) and also for Captain Sarfraz, who was killed by Indian Forces on the Line of Control.

At this stage, the Opposition staged walkout against the haste passage of “the Punjab Local Government Bill, 2013” as asserted by the Opposition Leader Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed.

Question Hour:-

Questions relating to Social Welfare and Bait-Ul-Maal Department were asked and answered by Mian Atta Muhammad Manika, Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-Ul-Maal.

Laying of Report:-

Mrs. Ayesha Javed presented the report of the Special Committee No. 1 before the House on “Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture Multan Bill 2013 (Bill No. 6 of 2013)”.

Call Attention Notices:-

Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice of Mrs. Lubna Rehan regarding dacoity of gold worth Rs.20 Million and 6.2 million cash at a Jewelry shop, at Bakkar Mandi Race Course Police Station Rawalpindi was disposed of, while other Notice of Mr. Javed Akhtar regarding dacoity of worth10.3 million at Dr. Yayah Saeed,’s residence located at Garden town, Lahore, was kept pending till next working day.

The Notices were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Five Adjournment Motions were taken up. (i) Motion moved by Mst. Kanwal Nauman regarding nonimplementation on the recommendations made in the resolution unanimously passed by the House on 4 January 2011 to construct a temporary bridge over River Chenab at Muaza Gogera District Jhang enabling farmers to easily transport their crops to the market since roads were destroyed in the flood was kept pending till 23 August 2013. (ii) The motion moved by Mr. Ramesh Singh Arora regarding massive corruption worth billions of rupees by former Evacuee Trust Property Board Chairman, Syed Asif Hashmi, who distributed State land allocated to Gurdwaras and Temples among Qabza Mafia and had fled from Pakistan along with plundered money one of such examples is 65 acres State land in Nankana Sahib reserved for Gurdwara occupied in the name of development of Lawyer’s Housing Colony. He feared that it would not only damage the national image internationally but also weaken the writ of the government to safeguard the rights of the minorities, three motions moved by Sheikh Ala ud Din, one regarding appointment of male Principal instead of female Principal at Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore, the second motion regarding 12 posts of Professors lying vacant at King Edward Medical University similarly different departments of Mayo Hospital are also working without the services of professors, and the last motion regarding introduction of “Centralized Admission software” which can be useful to know how many seats are available in the different colleges of Lahore after final enrolment of the students were kept pending till next session.

The Motions were answered by Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS

CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE OF BILL

Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved “THE PUNJAB BOILERS AND PRESSURE VESSELS (AMENDMENT) BILL 2013 (Bill No. 7 of 2013)”, which was passed by the House.

The House was then adjourned till 9:00 am on Friday 23rd August, 2013.
