1.   THE PUNJAB POLICE ORDER (AMENDMENT) BILL 2013 (Bill No. 9 of 2013)

            RESUMPTION FROM CLAUSE-BY-CLAUSE consideration of the Punjab Police Order (Amendment) Bill 2013.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Police Order (Amendment) Bill 2013, be passed.

2.   MUHAMMAD NAWAZ SHARIF UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE MULTAN BILL 2013 (Bill No. 6 of 2013)

            A MINISTER to move that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan Bill 2013, as recommended by Special Committee No.1, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan Bill 2013, be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour:-

Questions relating to Health Department were asked and answered by Mr. Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Minister for Health.

Adjournment Motions:-

Twelve Adjournment Motions were taken up. (i) motion moved by Mr. Ahmed Khan Bhachar regarding 3 feet rain water accumulated in Government Boys High School located in Chak No.69, R-B Ghaseetpura, District Faisalabad, destroying IT and Science Labs and apparatus available there, worth lacs of rupees and instead of taking steps to pump out  rain water from school premises the school administration closed the school, (ii) motion moved by Mst. Kanwal Nauman regarding 100% increase in the prices of vegetables by market committees in the cover of flood and moonson rains (iii) motion moved by Mst Saadia Sohail Rana regarding spread of Dengue virus in Punjab and increase in the number of patients suffering from this disease, (iv) motion moved by Mst Azma Zahid Bokhari regarding exclusion of names of 2 martyrs from class 9 English text book, who received Nishan-e-Haider namely Lans Naik Muhammad Mahfooz Shaheed and Rider Muhammad Hussain Shaheed, (v) motion moved by Malik Mazhar Abbas Raan regarding appointment of Mr Ijaz Khan grade 17 officer against grade 18 posts of doctors by using political influence and openly indulging in financial corruption by awarding tender of Wapda Employers Cooperative Society on lesser rates for Rs.8 lacs for 3 years which in the open market could be awarded for Rs. 20 lacs thus giving loss of Rs.36 lacs to the National Exchequer, (vi) motion moved by Sheikh Ala ud Din  regarding construction of flats on parks and each park catering 24 attached houses with them at Chuburji Gardens Estate Multan Road, Lahore, which comprises 400 houses, on the proposal of Mr Farooq, Estate Officer S&GAD, declaring these parks useless which on the contrary provide entertainment as well as fresh air to the families of Government servants residing in the attached houses of parks, and (vii) motion moved by Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed regarding increase in flour prices for Rs.5 per kg, consequently increasing the price of bread and muffin to Rs.6 and Rs 8 respectively were kept pending till next session. Two motions moved by Mian Tahir one regarding disappointing performance of PHA especially in Faisalabad city where parks are in worn-out condition and funds allocated for their decoration and beautification have been embezzled by the staff of the department and the second motion regarding death of 19 people in Faisalabd city after taking poisonous liquor as well as open sale of such wine in the city and no action being taken by police and concerned departments to stop its sale, two motions moved by Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar one regarding wastage of flood water worth billion of dollars which could be used for irrigation and power generation purposes  as well as flood devastation could be avoided by storing this wasted water and the other motion regarding refusal to give admission and training to students in different medical colleges of Punjab due to shortage of required bed strength in attached hospitals and the motion moved by Sardar Waqas Hassan Mokal regarding Shahdra Hospital Lahore which is not functioning due to 100 seats lying vacant including posts of senior consultant surgeon, medical officers and nursing staff which are required to be filled immediately were disposed of.
