CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE OF BILL

      THE PUNJAB COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN BILL 2013 (Bill No. 10 of 2013)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women Bill 2013, as recommended by Special Committee No.1, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women Bill 2013, be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour: −  

Questions relating to Labour & Human Resource and Special Education Departments were asked and Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Minister for Labour & Human Resource and Mr. Asif Saeed Manais, Minister for Special Education answered the questions.

Fateha:-

The House offered fateha for Ex MPA, Sardar Khurram Nawab on his sad demise.

Call Attention Notices:-

Three Call Attention notices were taken up. The Notice of Mian Manazir Hussain Ranjha regarding dacoity of forty thousand rupees, three licensed weapons and mobile phone from Sultan Ranjha at Bhabra, Kot Momin Road, District Sargodha was kept pending. The Notice of Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed regarding assassination of son of Neelum Ashraf, President, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Lahore by unknown persons in the locality of Nishter Colony, Kamah Road, near Kot Madhawa Singh and the last Notice of Ch Moonis Elahi regarding killing of forty two years old man by the motorcyclists at Gulberg, Lahore were disposed of.

The Notices were answered by Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

At this stage, Mr. Speaker welcomed the Honourable guest, Mr Abdul Mannan, (MNA) in Speaker’s Box.

Adjournment Motions:-

Three Adjournment Motions were taken up. The motion moved by Mr Ahmad Shah Khagga regarding broadening of road from Thokar Niazbaig to Sodiwal by the Punjab Government in the public interest but the road from Sodiwal to Samanabad is still narrow, due to which traffic remains jammed and blocked at Samanabad Morre and people have to face difficulty to reach their destinations thus the project is conceived as failed and the other motion moved by Sardar Vickas Hassan Mokal regarding construction of encroachments by some ground floor allotees in G.O.R IV Khushnuma due to which other allotees are facing parking problems as well as security matters are also affected and operation is required to demolish these encroachments were kept pending till next week. The Motion of Ms. Shunila Ruth regarding illegal sale and purchase of human organs especially kidneys, which are removed/purchased from poor people at petty price and sold at high rates especially to foreigners, who get them transplanted and donees are at higher risk of death thus “HOTA” has been unsuccessful to stop this unlawful business was disposed of.

The Motions were answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

The House was then adjourned till 10:00a.m on Tuesday, 11th February, 2014.
