Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, Acting Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

At this stage, Opposition took token walk out on the issue of first year girl student, who set herself on fire against the police attitude at Muzzafargarh.   

Question Hour: −  

Questions relating to the Communication and Works Department were asked. Mr. Tanveer Aslam Malik, Minister for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering (holding additional charge) answered the questions.

At this stage, Mr. Speaker welcomed honorable guest Mr. Om Puri, international Indian film star, who came to the Speaker’s Box to witness the Assembly session.

Privilege Motions:-

Three Privilege Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Pir Khizer Hayat Shah Khagga regarding misbehavior of Mr. Farukkh, SHO, Ghalah Mandi, Sahiwal with the Member concerned, second Motion of Rana Tahir Shabbir regarding misbehavior of Mr. Shahid Mehmood, EDO, Education, Multan with the Member concerned, were kept pending till next week and last Motion moved by Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed regarding non-issuance of development funds to three constituencies of Lahore from where PTI Members won the General Elections 2013, whereas funds for the remaining constituencies have been provided from where PML(N) members got victory was referred to the Privileges Committee with the direction to submit its report within one month.

The Motions were answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

Adjournment Motions:-

Nine Adjournment Motions were taken up. Two Motions which were moved by Mst. Hina Pervaiz Butt, one regarding news-item about selling of dead meat at Jalal Slaughter House near Sagian Pull, Lahore, was disposed of and other Motion regarding news-item about increase in the accidents due to one wheeling on motorcycles in Lahore, the Motion of Mrs.‏ Gulnaz Shahzadi regarding lack of coordination between Punjab Education Commission and District Education Office, the Motion of Dr. Murad Rass regarding news-item about corruption in the project of computerized number plates by the Project Director, Mr. Faisal Qurashi, Excise and Taxation Department, the Motion of Mrs.‏ Saadia Sohail Rana regarding news-item about transferring of development funds of four big cities Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and Rawalpindi to the City Government Lahore, three Motions were moved by Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema, one regarding news-item about planning for buying expensive paper for the printing degrees by the Secondary Board, Lahore, second Motion regarding news-item about shortage of ventilators at various public hospitals of Lahore  and other Motion regarding incompetence of Fodder Research Institute, Sargodha, which has failed in producing new seeds of fodder and last Motion of Mr. Ahmed Khan Bhachar regarding news-item about failure of different hospitals in disposal of medical waste, were kept pending till next week.

Government Business:-

Laying of Report:-

Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs laid the “ANNUAL REPORTS OF THE PUNJAB PENSION FUND FOR THE YEARS 2010-2011 & 2011-2012”, before the House.

The House was then adjourned till 3:00p.m on Monday, 17^th March, 2014.
