 Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, Acting Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour:−

Questions relating to Planning and Development Department were asked and Mr. Ahmad Karim Qaswar Langrial, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Development answered the questions.

Adjournment Motions:-

Twelve Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Ms. Hina Pervaiz Butt regarding increase in the number of accidents of young people in Lahore due to motorcycle wheeling thus killing 11 and injuring 143 in 3 months because police after taking bribe release one wheelers, two Motions were moved by Ms Nighat Sheikh, one regarding day-by-day increase in the number of patients facing a lot of problems in Government hospitals of Lahore who have to undergo different medical tests, and the other Motion regarding delay in the release of development funds by the government to continue 29 ongoing and 6 new projects of Archaeology Department, the Motion moved by Mrs. Faiza Ahmad Malik regarding 200% increase in Water bills in the area of Lahore by WASA/LDA, without prior permission of the Chief Minister and the Motion moved by Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema regarding shortage of ventilators at various public and private hospitals of Lahore, were disposed of. Three Motions moved by Ms. Shunila Ruth, one regarding bogus appointment of work charge employees on fake documents in Irrigation Department in 100 divisions of the Punjab, thus bringing loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer, the second Motion regarding sale of unhealthy and under age animals at Tollinton Market Lahore and the last Motion regarding deteriorating condition of female prisoners at various prisons of the Punjab due to non availability of proper facilities to them, the Motion moved by Sardar Vickas Hassan Mokal regarding shortage of Audiologists (a specialist who treats children suffering from hearing problem) and hearing screening tests, (for deducting hear loss) at different hospitals of the Punjab, the Motion moved by Syed Tariq Yaqoob Rizvi regarding violation of law by the owners of Colony Sugar Mills located at Karman wala Tehsil Phalia District Mandi Baha-ud-Din since, waste of the mill is thrown in the adjacent drain (Nullah) by a distillery established resulting in the extinction of water life and spread of pollution in the attached villages, the Motion moved by Malik Mazhar Abbas Raan regarding rupture of road  in PP-201 of District Multan due to transportation of heavy vehicles and machinery by the contractor to whom contract to construct Multan, Faisalabad Motoryway section has been signed by NHA and under the agreement maintenance of this road is the duty of contractor,  and the Motion moved by Mr. Mannan Khan regarding dilapidated condition of Narowal-Muridke Road, were kept pending till next week.

Pre-Budget Discussion:-

In his Pre-Budget wind up speech, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Minister for Finance informed the House that promotion of education, establishment of more basic health units, improvement in law and order situation, increase in agriculture production, computerization of revenue record, provision of safe drinking water, and building of road infrastructure would remain prime focus of the Government during the coming fiscal year.
