1.   THE PUNJAB OVERSEAS PAKISTANIS COMMISSION BILL 2014 (BILL No. 23 of 2014)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission Bill 2014, as recommended by Standing Committee on Services and General Administration, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission Bill 2014, be passed.

2.   THE PUNJAB REGISTRATION OF GODOWNS BILL 2014 (BILL No. 21 of 2014)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Registration of Godowns Bill 2014, as recommended by Standing Committee on Agriculture, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Registration of Godowns Bill 2014, be passed.

3.   THE PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENT (AMENDMENT) BILL 2014 (BILL No. 20 of 2014)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2014, as recommended by Standing Committee on Local Government and Rural Development, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2014, be passed.

4.   THE PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENT (AMENDMENT) BILL 2014 (BILL No. 19 of 2014)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2014, as recommended by Standing Committee on Local Government and Rural Development, be taken into consideration at once.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour

Questions relating to Auqaf Department were asked and Mian Atta Muhammad Manika, Minister for Auqaf answered the questions.

Adjournment Motions

Sixteen Adjournment Motions were taken up. Two motions moved by Ch Aamir Sultan Cheema one regarding inability of District Government of Punjab to complete schemes of maintenance of graveyards in districts, the other motion regarding misusage of funds by Malik Muhammad Saleem, Additional Secretary (Budget), Irrigation Department, who used funds beyond his financial powers and brought loss of 875 million to national exchequer, two motions moved by Dr Murad Rass one regarding weak and incompetent administration of Mayo Hospital Lahore and its low grade performance, the other motion regarding death of 8 years old child in General Hospital Lahore due to negligence of doctors, three motions moved by Sardar Ali Raza Khan Drishek, one regarding non-availability of Polio teams in Jam Shoro Tribal Areas, the other motion regarding non availability of residential facilities at “Darbar Farid” creating problems for visitors coming from other cities, the third motion regarding extortion being committed by influential people in District Rajanpur on poor rowers who use their boats to earn livelihood by taking people from one place to another, two motions moved by Sheikh Ala ud Din one regarding purchase of substandard anesthetic injections by Director General Health Punjab and injections of similar type were earlier supplied 2 years back to Punjab institute of Cardiology and resulted in number of deaths of patients under treatment in the Institute, the other motion regarding increase of sexual harassment incidents in higher education institutions including universities and listlessness of Higher Education Commission against the complaints of the victims, the motion moved by Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed regarding disclosure of a private jail by police at Kot Laddha of Hafizabad, maintained by an influential feudal of the area, imprisoning more than 100 people of the village and inducted them in domestic works, the motion moved by Ms Hina Pervaiz Butt regarding introduction of easy and fool proof system of fine collection against traffic challans in accordance with the system currently used to receive utility bills from mobile phone or through credit card rather than prevalent obsolete system of confiscation of documents of violators by traffic police due to which the on ratio of the spot corruption is very high and two motions moved by Sardar Shahab-ud-Din Khan regarding wrong decision of demolition of Allaniwala Bund at District Layyah which was protecting residents of five Mozas and the other motion regarding wrong planning of TMA Layyah which led the whole city drowned in the water were disposed of. The motion moved by Mian Tariq Mahmood regarding corruption by Patwaris through over charging at District Gujrat and non initiation of disciplinary action against the wrong doers, the motion moved by Sheikh Ala ud Din regarding export of expired and unhygienic meat by a Chinese firm to Pakistani company which is a supplier of known franchise in Pakistan “MacDonald’s” and this meat is harmful for health of general public and the motion moved by Ch Aamir Sultan Cheema regarding pollution caused by 60 tyre factories extracting oil from tyres and inability of District Administration to seal these factories, were kept pending.

The Motions were answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

“THE PUNJAB ARMS (AMENDMENT) BILL 2014”, which was referred to the Standing Committee on Home Affairs with the direction to submit its report within two months.
