CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE OF BILL

      THE PUNJAB INSTITUTE OF QURA’N AND SEERAT STUDIES BILL 2014 (BILL No. 29 of 2014)

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Institute of Qura’n and Seerat Studies Bill 2014, as recommended by Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Auqaf, be taken into consideration at once.

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Institute of Qura’n and Seerat Studies Bill 2014, be passed.

Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, Acting Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour

Questions relating to Labour and Human Resource, Youth Affairs, Sports Archeology and Tourism Departments were asked and Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Minister for Labour and Human Resource and Chaudhary Sarfraz Afzal, Parliamentary Secretary for Archaeology, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Affairs answered the questions.

Call Attention Notices

Three Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice of Mrs. Faiza Ahmad Malik regarding assassination of a businessman by dacoits at resistance at Urdu Bazar, Lahore and the other Notice of Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema regarding killing of Mr. Abdul Hameed a businessman and injuring three other persons by a motorcyclist at Hyderabad Town, Sargodha and the last Notice of Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar regarding assassination of four people at Bhikhi Police Station, District Sheikhupura were disposed of.

The Notices were answered by Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada, Minister for Home.

Adjournment Motions

Five Adjournment Motions were taken up. Four Motions moved by Sheikh Ala-ud-Din, one regarding continuous drop out of more than 3 million students from government schools and moving to private schools for admission because substandard quality of education is imparted in government schools without teachers, the second Motion regarding embezzlement and misuse of millions of rupees from Government account by few officers of the department allocated for the development of walled city of Lahore by submitting fake receipts, the third Motion regarding dilapidated condition of buildings, sewerage and infrastructure of Walled City of Lahore and ineffiency of Walled City Lahore Authority to under take the task of completing renovation work of these ruined buildings on emergency basis and save residents of the area from any untoward incident, the fourth Motion regarding non-availability of potable water to the residents of Government Chauburji Gardens Estate Multan Road Lahore due to non functional condition of transformer lying defective since long because of negligence of staff of the concerned department and the Motion of Al Haj Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti regarding illegal demolition of a building located at Jhang Road by the District Administration without serving legal notice to the owner were kept pending till next week.

The Adjournment Motion Nos 898, 1106, 1114, 1116, 1146, 1149, 1157, 1158, 1160, 1162, 1164, 1166, 1168, 1173, 1176, 1180 and 1190 were disposed of under rule 83 (e) of Rules of Procedures of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, because they had identical content and general discussion on the subject was to be followed.

The Motions were answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS

CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE OF BILL

Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved THE PUNJAB INSTITUTE OF QURA’N AND SEERAT STUDIES BILL 2014 (BILL No. 29 of 2014), which was passed by the House.

The House was then adjourned till 9:00 a.m on Friday, 12th December, 2014.
