Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Panel of Chairmen
In terms of Rule 13 (1) of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, Rai Mumtaz Hussain Babar, Senior Secretary Assembly, announced the Panel of Chairmen nominated by Mr. Speaker in the following order:-
1. Mian Marghoob Ahmad (PP-150)
2. Mrs. Saba Sadiq (W-306)
3. Syed Ejaz Hussain Bukhari (PP-15)
4. Syed Muhammad Sibtain Raza (PP-260)
Question Hour
Questions relating to Schools Education Department were asked and Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Minister for Schools Education answered the questions.
Suspension of Rules
On a motion moved by Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar under Rule 234 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, the House granted leave to suspend Rule 115 and others of the Rules ibid, for taking up the following Resolution.
Resolution
The Resolution moved by Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar against the execution of JI Bangaldesh Ameer Matiur Rehman Nizami and called upon the federal government to raise the issue before the OIC, the UN and at the diplomatic front that Haseena Wajid government was putting JI leaders to gallows only for their love with Pakistan was unanimously passed by the House.
Privilege Motion
Three Privilege Motions were taken up. Two Motions moved by Ms. Raheela Naeem Alias Raheela Khadim Hussain, one regarding not presentation of three Annual Reports of the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2013 for the years 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 before the House as per law and the second Motion regarding non-presentation of three annual reports of The Punjab Commission on the Status of Women Act, 2014 for the years 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 before the House as per law and the Motion moved by Ms. Nabila Hakim Ali Khan regarding misbehavior of Rana Farooq, Assistant Director Passport, Sahiwal with the Member concerned were kept pending till Monday.
The answers was given by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
At this stage, the quorum was pointed out and the House was then adjourned to meet on Monday May 9, 2016 at 3:00 pm.

"پنجاب اسمبلی کا یہ ایوان بنگلہ دیش میں امیر جماعت اسلامی بنگلہ دیش جناب مطیع الرحمٰن نظامی کو نام نہاد ٹربیونل کی طرف سے وفائے پاکستان کے جرم میں دی جانے والی موت کی سزا پر انتہائی تشویش کا اظہار کرتا ہے۔ بنگلہ دیش کی سپریم کورٹ نے انصاف کا خون کرتے ہوئے سزائے موت کے خلاف ان کی اپیل مسترد کر دی ہے۔ یاد رہے کہ اس سے قبل بھی جماعت اسلامی کے متعدد رہنماؤں کو بنگلہ دیش میں پاکستان کے ساتھ وفا کے جرم میں پھانسی کے پھندے پر لٹکایا جا چکا ہے۔ یہ ایوان وفاقی حکومت سے مطالبہ کرتا ہے کہ اس سے پہلے کہ حسینہ واجد کی ظالم حکومت سزائے موت پر عملدرآمد کرے اس معاملے کو فوری طور پر (او آئی سی) اور اقوام متحدہ کے اداروں میں اٹھایا جائے نیز جراتمندانہ سفارتکاری کرتے ہوئے اس ظلم کو رکوایا جائے۔"
