            A MINISTER to lay the annual activity Reports of Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi Development Authorities, and Parks & Horticulture Authority Lahore for the year 2014-15.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour

Questions relating to Revenue & Colonies (Board of Revenue) Department were to be taken up but on the request of Ms. Nazia Raheel, Parliamentary Secretary for Revenue questions relating to Revenue were kept pending and questions relating to the Colonies were referred to the Standing Committee on Colonies to hold inquiry of the unnecessary delay in the supply of replies and the names of those who are responsible for this gross malfunctioning should be identified and directed to submit its report within two months, because the Department had displayed an extreme sense of irresponsibility towards timely provision of answers to the queries by the Members as out of 11 questions in total, the department failed to provide the replies to 8 questions while the movers of the rest of the 3 questions were not present in the House.

Privilege Motion

The Privilege Motion moved by Mr. Munawar Ahmed Gill regarding misbehavior of Mr. Shuja Qutab, Executive District Officer, Finance, District Sialkot with the Member concerned was referred to the Committee on Privileges with the direction to submit its report within two months.    

Adjournment Motions

Six Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mr. Amjad Ali Javaid regarding illegal sale of harmful surgical/medical waste by Sanitary Inspector and Sweepers in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital despite its disposal contract has already been awarded by the Government to a private company, the second Motion moved by Mr. Ahmad Shah Khagga regarding non-availability of free of cost medicines and medical tests in Government Civil Hospital Faisalabad in connivance with Class IV officials in the hospital where cost of medicines and medical tests were received from the patients, the third Motion moved by Ms. Saadia Sohail Rana regarding death of two years old boy naming Muhammad Hussain due to the absence of doctors and staff in government hospital Narang Mandi, the Motion moved by Ch. Muhammad Iqbal regarding 284 BHUs of 13 districts in the province are working without doctors, the Motion moved by Ms. Naheed Naeem Rana regarding slaughtering of dead and sick animals in Gujranwala Slaughter House  in connivance with meat Inspector were kept pending and the last Motion moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood that due to negligence and careless attitude of Professor Dr. Ikhlaq Ahmad, Incharge, Mayo Hospital Lahore Kidney Ward, the Security Assistant, Punjab Assembly, Mr. Azmat Wahla, got disabled whom wrong medicine was injected in the spinal cord by the doctor despite the resistance made by the patient, was referred to Standing Committee on Health.

Laying of Reports

Ch. Muhammad Iqbal presented before the House the report of Committee on Privileges in respect of Privilege Motions No. 12, 27 for the year 2015 and 6, 8, 16, 27, 29 for the year 2016.

Sardar Khalid Mahmood Waran presented before the House the report of Standing Committee on Food in respect of Starred Question No.7051/2016 asked by Ch. Ashraf Ali Ansari, MPA (PP-93).

Extension in Time Limit for Laying the Report

On a Motion moved by Mr. Muhammad Anis Qureshi, the House granted two months extension to the Standing Committee on Finance for laying its report on Starred Question No. 5290 asked by Mr. Amjad Ali Javaid, MPA (PP-86).

At this stage, the quorum was pointed out and the House was adjourned to meet on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
