Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Fateha

The House offered Fateha on the sad demise of Raja Akhtar, brother-in-law of Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Minister for Labour & Human Resource and also for father of Mr. Ali Haidar Noor Khan Niazi, Ex-MPA.

Question Hour

Questions relating to Labour and Human Resource Department were asked and Mian Naveed Ali, Parliamentary Secretary for Labour & Human Resource answered the questions.

Motions under Rule 83(e)

The Adjournment Motions No.483,994,1000,1002,1005,1014,1015,1017,1032 and 39/17 were relating to Health so those were disposed of under Rule 83 (e) of Rules of Procedure of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997 because debate and general discussion on Health had to take place in the House.

Adjournment Motions

Seven Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mian Mehmood ur Rashid regarding disclosure of a huge land scandal in Lahore wherein a gang involved in bogus sale and purchase of land through fake decisions taken by false courts, the Motion moved by Sardar Vickas Hassan Mokal regarding shortage of ambulances in Rescue Department as the department is spending money on the purchase of machinery used for the construction of building rather to purchase ambulances, the Motion moved by Ms.‏ Khadija Umar regarding butchers fleecing general public through demanding desirable rates of meat and inability of administration to take action against them, the Motion moved by Mr. Ahmad Shah Khagga regarding corruption of millions of rupees by C&W Department in the cover of renovation and purchase of electronics and medical equipment in Services Hospital Lahore, the Motion moved by Ms. Nabila Hakim Ali Khan regarding illegal possession of commercial property in Lahore by “qabza mafia”  owned by Auqaf Department in connivance with the staff of  concerned department resulting in financial loss to the department, the Motion moved by Ms.‏ Raheela Anwar that due to poor planning in Education Department Lahore and lack of facilities, 45 thousand students in 1188 public schools have shifted to private schools and the last  Motion moved by Ch Ashraf Ali Ansari regarding mushroom of illegal travel companies in Gujranwala and action against them by FIA Gujranwala is subject to slowness, were kept pending till next week.

Laying of Ordinances

Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs laid before the House “The Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion and Regulation) (Amendment) Ordinance 2017 which was referred to the Standing Committee on Education with the direction to submit its report within two months.

General Discussion

General Discussion on Health

Khawaja Imran Nazeer, Minister for Primary & Secondary Health initiated general discussion on Health. He said that the government is working laboriously to improve the Health sector and that around forty one hospitals would be revamped by June 2017 while the rest would be completed by 2018.
