Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool .

Question Hour

Questions relating to Transport Department were asked and Mr. Sher Ali Khan, Minister for Mines & Minerals (holding additional charge for Transport) answered the questions.

Adjournment Motions

Six Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mr. Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui regarding illegal possession of land of WASA located in Mohajarabad, Sodiwal Multan Road Lahore in Union Council 79 which was used by the residents for their community services was replied by Mr. Sajjad Haider Gujjar, Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering and was disposed of. The Motion moved by Ms. Saadia Sohail Rana regarding devastating condition of Botanical Garden located in Jallo Park, Lahore which contains heaps of garbage and giving a look of ugliness due to the ignorance by the officials of Parks and Horticulture Authority, the Motion moved by Ms. Khadija Umar regarding inability of concerned authorities to take proper action against cheaters who through SMS/text messages from unknown numbers attract subscribers by informing them that they have won prize money under Benazir Income Support Programme and deceive them by asking to recharge balance of thousands of rupees on different mobile numbers, the Motion moved by Mr. Asif Mehmood regarding termination of registration of non-custom paid vehicles in Punjab by the Excise & Taxation Department resulting in financial loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer, the Motion moved by Mr Muhammad Rafique regarding closure of Genrally Road at Peer Mehal-Shorkot Road due to the construction of Lahore to Khanewal Section-III Motorway and the Motion moved by Ms. Raheela Anwar regarding establishment of examination centers in other cities for the students to appear in 9th class Board Examination due to ignorance of Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Rawalpindi, were kept pending till next week.
