Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool ﷺ.
Panel of Chairmen
In terms of Rule 13 (1) of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, Rai Mumtaz Hussain Babar, Senior Secretary Punjab Assembly, announced the Panel of Chairmen nominated by Mr. Speaker in the following order:-
1. Mian Manazir Hussain Ranjha (PP-31)
2. Mr Muhammad Yasien Sohl (PP-156)
3. Mrs Saadia Sohail Rana (W-355)
4. Malik Ahmed Saeed Khan (PP-178)
Question Hour
Questions relating to Home Department were asked and Rana Muhammad Afzal, Parliamentary Secretary for Home answered the questions.
Call Attention Notices
Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice of Sheikh Ijaz Ahmad regarding murder of Mr Muhammad Khalid Hussain, Constable s/o Mr Muhammad Khadim Hussain when he was proceeding to Lahore from Sheikhupura to perform his duty at CPO Office by Mr Zaheer Ahmad alias Zaheeri s/o Mr Muhammad Idrees R/o Narowal who had also killed father of the murderer and the second Notice moved by Mian Mehmood ur Rashid regarding suicide attack on the van of census team near Manawala Chowk Bedian Road, Lahore thus killing 4 employees of Army, 2 citizens and hurting 15 other, were disposed of.
The Notices was answered by Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Adjournment Motions
Two Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Al-Haaj Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti regarding inability of Government to convert Chiniot-Faisalabad Road as double road despite repeated demands by the residents of Chiniot leading to occurrence of number of accidents and the second Motion moved by Ms Nighat Sheikh regarding acute problem of traffic jams in the city of Lahore due to poor policies of Government to manage entry and exit point of the city in the excuse of security reasons in also diversion of traffic to narrow roads in case of protest on the highways, were kept pending.

Laying of Ordinance
Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs laid before the House “The Punjab Women Protection Authority Ordinance 2017”, which was referred to the Standing Committee on Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal with the direction to submit its report within two months.
Suspension of Rules
On a motion moved by Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs under Rule 234 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, the House granted leave to suspend Rule 115 and others of the Rules ibid, for taking up the following Resolution:
Resolution
Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved a resolution reposing full confidence in the active, effective and sagacious leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and that he is a glittering ray of hope and faith to ensure development, prosperity and long lasting solutions to the public problems. The resolution paid rich tributes to Prime Minister for his role in steering the country out of power crises, bringing peace in the country and eliminating terrorism. It also stated that the historic project of CPEC capable of changing the destiny of Nation would be remembered with his name. The resolution voiced concern over the activities of elements conspiring to push the country towards anarchy, uncertainty, instability and pressed all political forces to focus 2018 General Elections so that his Government could utilize its energies towards the welfare of country. The resolution was passed by the House.
Zero Hour
The Motion moved by Mr. Faisal Farooq Cheema regarding choked up sewerage in Chak Nos.55 and 71 of PP-35, District Sargodha resulting in spread of different diseases in the area, was kept pending till 25 April 2017.
The House was then adjourned at 06:28 p.m. to meet on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

"یہ معزز ایوان وزیراعظم اسلامی جمہوریہ پاکستان، محمد نوازشریف کی متحرک، فعال اور مدبرانہ قیادت پر اپنے مکمل اعتماد کا اظہار کرتا ہے۔ یہ ایوان مسرت کے ساتھ اس حقیقت کا اظہار کرتا ہے کہ وطن عزیز کی تعمیر و ترقی، خوشحالی اور عوامی مسائل کے دیرپا حل کے لئے وزیراعظم کی قیادت ہی اُمید و یقین کی روشن مشعل ہے۔ وزیراعظم محمد نوازشریف نے ملک کو توانائی کے بحران سے نکالنے، امن و امان سے ہم کنار کرنے اور دہشت گردی کے خاتمے کے لئے انتہائی اہم کردار ادا کیا ہے۔ سی پیک کا تاریخی منصوبہ اُن کے نام کے حوالے سے ہمیشہ یاد رکھا جائے گا جو ملک کی تقدیر بدلنے کی صلاحیت رکھتا ہے۔ یہ ایوان ایسے عناصر کی سرگرمیوں کو تشویش کی نگاہ سے دیکھتا ہے جو ملک کو انتشار، بے یقینی اور انارکی میں دھکیلنے کی مسلسل کوششیں کر رہے ہیں۔ یہ ایوان محسوس کرتا ہے کہ اب تمام سیاسی قوتوں کو اپنی پوری توجہ 2018ء کے انتخابات پر مرکوز کر دینی چاہئے تاکہ وزیراعظم محمد نوازشریف کی حکومت پوری یکسوئی کے ساتھ اپنی توانائیاں ملکی تعمیر و ترقی کے لئے وقف کر دے۔"
