Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool .

Question Hour

Questions relating to Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department were asked and Malik Muhammad Ali Khokhar, Parliamentary Secretary for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department answered the questions.

At this stage, quorum was pointed out at 10:24 p.m. After ringing bells for five minutes, the quorum was incomplete and the House was adjourned for twenty minutes. The proceedings of the House then started at 11:36 a.m.

Adjournment Motions

Five Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion of Mr Asif Mehmood regarding 25 to 30 percent increase in the prices of books, notebooks, uniform and school fee in private schools in Rawalpindi, was disposed of due  to the absence of mover. The Motion moved by Ms Nighat Sheikh regarding children less than 16 years of age are forced to do labour and physical work at different places despite the legislation declaring it a crime and the responsible departments for the implementation of law seem to be helpless before that mafia forcing children to do physical work, the second Motion moved by Ms. Khadija Umar regarding incompletion of Bab-e-Pakistan, a national monument, for unknown reasons even after lapse of two decades and despite the fact that funds were allocated in the last tenure for its completion, the third Motion moved by Sardar Vickas Hasan Mokal regarding non-availability of health facilities in 31 Basic Health Units out of 37 in villages located near Lahore and the last Motion of Ms Baasima Chaudhry regarding hoarding of eatables by the retailers in connivance with the producers and administration prior to two months of Ramzan and artificial shortage of products is being implicated to sell them at exorbitant rates in Ramzan to cater high demand.

At this stage, quorum was again pointed out at 12:23 p.m. After ringing bells for five minutes, the quorum was incomplete, the Chair read out the Prorogation Order of the Governor of the Punjab and the House was prorogued.
