Question Hour

Questions relating to Zakat & Ushr and Youth Affairs & Sports Departments were asked and Raja Muhammad Awais Khalid, Parliamentary Secretary for Zakat & Ushr and Chaudhary Sarfraz Afzal, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Affairs & Sports answered the questions.

Adjournment Motions

Three Adjournment Motions were taken up. Two Motions of Dr. Murad Raas one regarding illegal parking on both sides of the road in the area of Nila Gumbad Lahore has made the lives of people miserable, and the second Motion regarding financial irregularities disclosed in Information & Culture Department i.e. not deducting income tax from the salaries of the employees etc. resulting in the loss of rupees more than 20 million to the public exchequer and the Motion of Ms Saadia Sohail Rana regarding embezzlement of rupees 470 million in Livestock & Dairy Development Department, were kept pending.

Resolutions in the Public Interest

Resolution kept pending on 06 February 2018

The resolution of Mr Ahmed Khan Bhacher demanding the Federal Government to take steps to provide electricity in Tola Bangi Khel and its adjacent areas, was disposed of as mover was not present.

Current Resolutions

1.         The resolution moved by Mian Mehmood ur Rashid demanding to immediately withdraw the recent increase in the petroleum prices resulting in price hike, was not passed by the House.

2.         The resolution of Ms. Hina Pervaiz Butt demanding to construct Mini Dams in all the Districts of the Punjab for clean drinking water on the pattern of dams built in Mehmood Booti Lahore, was disposed of as the mover was not present.

3.         The resolution of Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Munnu Bhai, a well-known journalist, columnist, intellectual, critic, researcher and a social worker who was internationally renowned personality. The House condoled with the bereaved family and prayed for his eternal peace, was disposed of as the mover was not present.

4.         The resolution of Begum Khola Amjad demanding to increase Laboratory machines and staff of Nishtar Hospital, Civil Hospital and Children Complex, Multan in proportion with increased population, was disposed of as the mover was not present.

Zero Hour

The Motion of Mian Mehmood ur Rashid regarding WASA, using rain water drainage as sewerage line in Allama Iqbal Town Lahore which is effecting the residents of the area and they are demanding that the Government should take steps to separate rain water drainage and sewerage pipelines, was kept pending.

The Motion of Ms Faiza Ahmed Malik regarding termination of 60 employees of Benevolent Fund Board Punjab Al-Falah Building Lahore, who were working there since long and due to their removal, the families are suffering badly, was kept pending.

The House was then adjourned at 11:03 p.m. to meet on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 09:00 a.m.
