Questions Hour

Questions relating to Environment Protection and Revenue Departments were on the agenda. Questions related to Revenue Department were kept pending on the request of concerned Minister/Parliamentary Secretary and the questions of Environment Protection were answered by Mr. Akmal Saif Chatha, Parliamentary Secretary for Environment Protection.

Suspension of Rules

On a motion moved by Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs under Rule 234 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, the House granted leave to suspend Rule 115 and others of the Rules ibid, for taking up the following Resolution:-

Resolution

Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved the resolution which was unanimously passed by the House.

“This House of Punjab Assembly vehemently condemns the terrorist attack occurred on 14 March 2018 at Raiwind Road, Lahore and expresses deep sorrow over the martyrdom resulted thereupon. Several people died and injured including policemen in this incident. This House pays tribute to those who sacrificed their lives while performing duty to save others and prays for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace and condoles with their families and early recovery of the injured. This House also prays that forces should achieve success against those involved and facilitates such incidents and bring them to justice”.

Call Attention Notice

Call Attention Notices kept pending on 12^th March 2018

Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice of Mr. Javed Akhtar regarding injuring Mr. Sajjad s/o Mr. Bashir Ahmad, resident of Shah Sadar Din, police station, Dera Ghazi Khan by Mr. Zubair s/o Mr. Sawan and the other Notice moved by Mian Mehmood ur Rashid regarding murder of Mr. Jawad Bhatti and Mr. Haseeb Mangat and seriously injuring six students as a result of conflict between two student parties, were disposed of.

Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs answered the Notices.

Fateha

The House offered Fateha for the martyrs of Raiwind Lahore and prayed for the early recovery of injured.

Adjournment Motions

Two Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Dr. Murad Rass that in violation of government policy, due to the negligence of authorities medicines are being used without testing from Drug Testing Laboratories in the public hospitals of the Punjab and the second Motion moved by Ms.‏ Saadia Sohail Rana regarding shortage of Tetanus wards in the public hospitals of the Punjab and in efficiency of health department to make general public aware about the damages being caused by this disease, were kept pending till next week.

At this stage, the quorum was pointed out at 01:05 p.m. which was incomplete after ringing bells for five minutes and the House was adjourned at 01:11 p.m. to meet on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 09:00 a.m.

"پنجاب اسمبلی کا یہ ایوان کل 14 مارچ 2018 کو رائیونڈ لاہور میں ہونے والے دہشت گرد حملے کی پُرزور الفاظ میں مذمت کرتا ہے اور اس کے نتیجے میں ہونے والی شہادتوں پر اپنے گہرے رنج و غم کا اظہار کرتا ہے۔ اس واقعے میں پنجاب پولیس کے افسران اور جوانوں سمیت متعدد افراد شہید اور زخمی ہوئے۔ یہ ایوان ان شہید افسران اور جوانوں کو خراج تحسین پیش کرتا ہے جنہوں نے اپنی جانوں کا نذرانہ پیش کر کے بے شمار زندگیوں کو بچا لیا اور قومی فریضے کی سرانجام دہی میں جامِ شہادت نوش کیا۔ یہ ایوان اِن شہدا کے درجات کی بلندی کے لئے دُعاگو ہے اور ان کے اہل خانہ سے اظہار تعزیت کرتا ہے اور تمام زخمی افراد کی جلد صحت یابی کے لئے بھی دُعاگو ہے۔
