Sardar Shaukat Hussain Mazari Acting Speaker assumed the chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran.

 

QUESTION HOUR:-

Questions relating to TRANSPORT, SPORTS AND TOURISM were asked and answers were given by Rana Shamshad Ahmad Khan and Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal Minister’s for Transport, Sports and Tourism.

 

PRIVILEGE MOTIONS:-

Three Privilege Motions were taken up. Out of which Privilege Motions moved by Miss Laila Muqaddus and Miss Samina Naveed were disposed of due to absence of the movers.

Privilege Motion moved by Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique Anwar against the misconduct of Assistant Election officer (AEO) Rahim Yar Khan was pended till next meeting of the house.

 

ADJOURNMENT MOTIONS:-

 

Two adjournment motions were taken up. Adjournment motion moved by Rana Sanaullah Khan was kept pending.  Other Adjournment motion moved by Sheikh Alla-ud-Din regarding higher percentage of female students getting admission in medical colleges as compared to the male students, which cost millions of rupees annually on such female students who abandon medical practice after marriage . The motion was answered by Minister for Health, Dr Tahir Ali Javed and was disposed of.

 

 

PRIVATE MEMBER BUSINESS:-

 

The University of Arid Agricultural Rawalpindi (Amendment) Bill 2004 (2004 no.12 of 2004)

 

 Mr. Tanveer Ashraf Kaira moved the bill which was pended till the next session as Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Arshad Khan Lodhi was not present in the house.

 

RESOLUTION PENDING FROM 3 OCTOBER 2006

 

               I.      Resolution moved by Ms Azma Zahid Bokhari regarding family cases according to the West Pakistan Family Court Act 1964 was unanimously approved by the House as amended.

 

             II.      Sheikh Alla-ud-Din moved a resolution regarding imposing one percent Provincial stamp duty on shares turn over of stock exchange and five percent on the gross profit of the banks was Voted out.

 

            III.      Resolution moved by Mr. Tanvir Ashraf Kaira concerning lowering the prices of petroleum commodities was unanimously carried by the House.

 

        IV.      Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar moved resolution regarding grant subsidy to those farmers on the purchase of fertilizer, seeds and agricultural inputs who own twelve and a half acre of land was passed by the House.

 

           V.      Resolution moved by Mr. Arshad Mehmood Baggu regarding appointing all members of Provincial Assembly as Justice of Peace according to the section 22 of the criminal procedure code 1898. The resolution was pended till next session.

 

The 27th session of the Assembly and 4th session of the 4th Parliamentary Year was then adjourned sine die by the chair.
