GOVERNMENT BUSINESS

 

 

1.   THE PUNJAB FORENSIC SCIENCE AGENCY BILL 2007 (Bill No.16 of 2007)

 

 

            A MINISTER to move that the requirements of Rule 95 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997 may be dispensed with under Rule 234 ibid, for the immediate consideration of the Punjab Forensic Science Agency Bill 2007.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Forensic Science Agency Bill 2007, as recommended by Standing Committee on Home Affairs, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Forensic Science Agency Bill 2007 be passed.

 

 

2.   THE PUNJAB PUBLIC DEFENDER SERVICE BILL 2007 (Bill No.13 of 2007)

 

 

            A MINISTER to move that the requirements of Rule 95 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997 may be dispensed with under Rule 234 ibid, for the immediate consideration of the Punjab Public Defender Service Bill 2007.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Public Defender Service Bill 2007, as recommended by Standing Committee on Law and Parliamentary Affairs, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Public Defender Service Bill 2007 be passed.

 

 

3.   THE PUNJAB JUDICIAL ACADEMY BILL 2007 (Bill No.5 of 2007)

 

 

            A MINISTER to move that the requirements of Rule 95 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997 may be dispensed with under Rule 234 ibid, for the immediate consideration of the Punjab Judicial Academy Bill 2007.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Judicial Academy Bill 2007, as recommended by Standing Committee on Law and Parliamentary Affairs, be taken into consideration at once.

 

            A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Judicial Academy Bill 2007 be passed.

SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS

Ch. Muhammad Afzal Sahi, Speaker, assumed the chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran.

 

 

Question Hour:-

 

Questions relating to the Health Department were asked and answers were given by Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal Minister for Health.

 

CALL ATTENTION NOTICES:-

 

First call attention notice was moved by Mrs. Suraya Naseem regarding killing of Abdul Jabbar in Police custody within the vicinity of Murree district Rawalpindi which was answered by Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, and was disposed of. Second call attention notice was moved by Haji Muhammad Ijaz regarding killing of Noor Muhammad by the dacoits within the vicinity of Batapur Dist. Lahore which was answered by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, and was disposed of.

 

ADJOURNMENT MOTIONS:-

 

Five adjournment motions were taken up. Out of which three adjournment motions moved by Sheikh Alla-ud-Din were pended till October 5, 2007.

Adjournment motion moved by Sheikh Alla-ud-Din regarding the assembling of TVs in which second hand monitors are converted into TVs which are injurious for eyes of the viewers and also costly. And that was replied by the Minister for industries, Mr. Muhammad Ajmal Cheema and disposed of.

Adjournment motion moved by Sheikh Alla-ud-Din regarding lack of interest of the govt. officials in official work on the day of Friday. That was replied by Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, Minister for Health with additional charge of S&GAD and was disposed of.

 

 

EXTENSION IN THE TIME LIMIT FOR PRESENTATION OF REPORTS:-

 

The House granted extension in time limit upto 31 October 2007, on a motion moved by Malik Asghar Ali Qaiser for laying the report of standing committee on Services & General Administration on the Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority Bill 2007 (Bill No 10 of 2007).

 

The House granted extension in time limit upto 31 October 2007, on a motion moved by Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari for laying the report of Standing Committee on LG&RD on the following,

 

1)                 THE PUNJAB KATCHI ABADIS (AMENDMENT) BILL 2007 (BILL No 14 of 2007).

2)                 The Punjab Prohibition of the Kite Flying (amendment) Bill 2007 (Bill No 9 of 2007).

 

On a Motion moved by Ms. Parveen Sikandar Gill, the House granted extension in the time limit upto October 31, 2007 for laying the report of the standing committee on Education, regarding “The Ali Institute of Education, Lahore Bill 2006 (Bill No. 16 of 2006)”

 

The House granted extension in the time limit upto November 15, 2007 on a motion moved by Miss Misbah Kokab Advocate, for laying the reports of the Privilege Motions, No. 71 & 72 of 2004, No. 2 & 33 of 2006 and No. 12, 31, 28, 33 & 34 of 2007.

 

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS:-

1- THE PUNJAB FORENSIC SCIENCE AGENCY BILL 2007 (BILL No.16 of 2007), 2-THE PUNJAB PUBLIC DEFERNDER SERVICE BILL 2007 (Bill No. 13 of 2007) were moved by Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, which were passed by the House while dispensing with the requirements of Rule 95 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997 under Rule 234 ibid.

 

The Punjab Judicial academy bill 2007 (Bill No. 5 of 2007) was pended till October 05, 2007, on the request of Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

 

Then the House was adjourned till 9:00 am on Friday, 05 October, 2007.
