He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002 and is functioning as Chairman Standing Committee on Transport since July 20, 2004. His father served as Member Punjab Assembly during 1985-1988, 1988-1990, 1990-1993 and 1997-1999.
