Personal Career & Interests

Chaudhry Sibghat Ullah, son of Chaudhry Ghulam Dastgir, was born on March 7, 1942 at Qadirabad, Amritsar, India. He obtained the degree of LL.B. in 1969 and that of M.A in 1970 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. A practising lawyer, who has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002, and is functioning as Chairman, Standing Committee on Finance since August 26, 2003. He belongs to a religious family and participated in various agitations for which he remained behind bars for many times. His nephew, Pir Mukhtar Ahmad served as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1985-88, 1988-90, 1990-93 and 1997-99.
