Council of the Lieutenant Governor of the
January 4, 1913 to April 19, 1916
Though the
third Council of the Lieutenant Governor was also constituted in accordance
with the provisions of the Indian Councils Acts of 1861, 1892 and 1909; however,
when the Government of India Act, 1915 was passed (to consolidate the
provisions of these above Acts), the Council functioned under the 1915 Act. The
membership was increased by four; three seats to be filled by election and one
by nomination1. The Council held 14 meetings during
its life.
