Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool .

Question Hour

Questions relating to Agriculture department kept pending on 24 May, 2017 were taken up and answered by Mr. Muhammad Naeem Akhtar Khan Bhabha, Minister for Agriculture. Questions relating to Communication & Works and Finance Departments were asked and Mr. Tanveer Aslam Malik, Minister for Communication & Works and Rana Babar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Finance answered the questions.

Extension in Time Limit for Laying the Reports

On a Motion moved by Mr. Ameer Muhammad Khan, the House granted two months extension to the Standing Committee on Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering for laying its reports in respect of the following:

1.         Adjournment Motion No.237/2014 moved by Mr Ahmad Shah Khagga, MPA (PP-229);

2.         Adjournment Motion No.278/2015 moved by Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, MPA (PP-271);

3.         Starred Question No.2401/2016 asked by Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, MPA (PP-271);

4.         Starred Question No.4437/2016 asked by Raja Rashid Hafeez, MPA (PP-11); and

5.         Zero Hour No. 197 moved by Malik Muhammd Waris Kallu, MPA (PP-42).

Suspension of Rules

On a motion moved by Mian Mehmood ur Rashid under Rule 234 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, the House granted leave to suspend Rule 115 and others of the Rules ibid, for taking up the following Resolution.

Resolution

Mian Mehmood ur Rashid moved the Resolution supporting freedom struggle by Kashmiri Muslims against the occupant Indian Army and condemned the recent killing/martyrdom of 12 Kashmiris including Commander Sabzar Bhatt at the hands of Indian forces and prayed for the departed souls. The resolution condemned the atrocities being committed on the unarmed Kashmiris to crush their freedom struggle and assured his Kashmiri brethren that Pakistanis are always standing with them against the barbarism of Indian Army and will continue to provide them political and moral support. The resolution demanded the Federal Government to immediately take up the issue of violence in Kashmir with UNO, OIC and other International platforms and request the world fora to intervene and play its effective role to stop violence in Kashmir by Indian forces, was unanimously passed by the House.

The Chair read out the Prorogation Order of the Governor of the Punjab and the House was prorogued.

"یہ ایوان مقبوضہ کشمیر میں بھارتی قابض فوج کے ہاتھوں گزشتہ روز 12 مظلوم کشمیریوں اور کمانڈر سبزار بھٹ کی شہادت پر گہرے دُکھ اور رنج کا اظہار کرتا ہے۔ یہ ایوان شہداء کے درجات کی بلندی کے لئے دُعاگو ہے اور بھارتی حکومت کے ظلم و استبداد کی شدید ترین الفاظ میں مذمت کرتا ہے نیز بھارت کو واضح پیغام دیتا ہے کہ پاکستان کے عوام ہر لمحہ اپنے کشمیری بھائیوں کو حق خود ارادیت دلانے کے لئے ان کے شانہ بشانہ کھڑے ہیں اور ان کی اخلاقی و سیاسی حمایت جاری رکھیں گے۔

یہ ایوان حکومت پاکستان سے مطالبہ کرتا ہے کہ کشمیریوں پر بھارتی ظلم بند کروانے کے لئے اپنے تمام تر وسائل کو بروئے کار لاتے ہوئے عالمی اداروں بشمول UNO، OIC اور عالمی قوتوں کو کشمیریوں کی حالت زار کا نوٹس لینے کیلئے اپنا مزید مؤثر کردار ادا کرے۔"
