Personal Career & Interests

Ms Fozia Behram was born in Lahore. She graduated twice and also obtained the Diploma in General Hotel Administration & Sale in 1978 from Poli Glot School, London. She was awarded Eisenhower fellowship in 1991. She is a businesslady, interior decorator & agriculturist. She was the first woman from District Chakwal who took part in politics and was elected as Member District Coucil in 1987. She was the only female member elected in general elections in the Punjab Assembly 1988-90. She has the honour of being the only female member of 248 Members’ House of Punjab Assembly during 1990-93. She has returned to the Assembly for the third term. She also took part in 2008 general elections for MNA. Her grandmother Sonnena aka Anna was from the royal family of Africa and was the princess in Blap Cage Penda near Mozaneek. Some of her family members are Christians residing in Africa, UK and India; and are senior members in World Bank and UN. Her late mother’s family members are Indian nationals. Her uncle, Mr F.M. Khan was among the pioneers of Indian film industry. Another grandmother of her was Pathan. Some members of her family are senior army officers. A military award, Sitara-e-Jur’at was awarded to her youngest uncle, Captain Sadiq. Many members of her family are senior bureaucrats posted in Punjab, Sindh and NWFP. Her sister’s father-in-law (late) Mr Umar was Senator. Her niece Palwasha Khan is MNA and younger brother-in-law, Mr Hashim Ali Khan was Senator, Minister and politician of NWFP. She is the aunt of famous cricketers of Pakistan, late Waseem Hassan Raja and Mr Rameez Hassan Raja.
