Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bherth son of Dr Malik Ijaz Ahmad Bherth was born on September 29, 1976 in Lahore. He obtained the degree of MBBS in 2001 from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur. A medical practitioner, who served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2002-07, 2008-13 and also functioned as Parliamentary Secretary during 2006-07. He has returned to the Punjab Assembly for the third consecutive term in general elections 2013 and is functioning as Minister for Population Welfare. He has been serving as Chairman, Public Account Committee since 2013. He has visited Saudi Arabia, USA and Singapore. His father had served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1988-90 and 1993-96.
